Detroit Lions team president Rod Wood said the team was willing to pay “whatever it takes” to lock up quarterback Matthew Staffordfor the foreseeable future, even if it meant making him the highest-paid player in football.

Not really a question of what he deserved.


More of a question of what it took to not lose him.


Detroit does not want to end up in a situation like the Browns, Bears, etc...
