Just got out of court and got phone back.

NFL took position Ezekiel Elliott CAN play Sunday. Judge rules by 5 pm Friday on restraining order

To sum it up: Zeke Elliott plays Sunday. Could get a restraining order to stay on the field this season. Could not get it and sit Weeks 2-7.

To be fair, they wouldn't have suspended him 6 games if they didn't have something on him. Guys like him bear some responsibility to stay out of trouble off the field.

The NFL employee that investigated the case said the girl was not credible and that she recommends no suspension.

I don't think judge will grant the injunction. Not after the Brady case that proved Goodell can do whatever the fuck he wants.

But here's hoping

I think it's a conspiracy by Goddell who is from New York to stick it to the Cowboys

I read a bit of an article online last week that had transcripts of interview with accuser along with other parts of NFL investigation. Something definitely happened. Maybe there are some videos or pics similar to Rice in elevator that they had access to. Medical experts who examined the evidence agreed much of her bruising was during the timeframe she alleges. Like enfuego said, he has to take some responsibility and chalk it up as a tough lesson learned.

not true, there's a pattern here, and there's a reason Roger keeps everything in house when making these decisions

once again, evidence is not relevant in this process, the only thing that matters is Roger's power to do as he pleases, powers the players naively gave him in the collective bargain agreement in 2011. It's that union contract that carries all the weight. Roger is prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner.

If an objective third party ever considers evidence in these decisions, Roger gets admonished. See Rice, Peterson and even Brady. The federal judge in Brady's case ordered the release of evidence Roger was concealing in Brady's case and it proved Roger was lying to the public to convict Brady in the court of public opinion. The appellate court however overturned his ruling, essentially saying the evidence is not relevant, and they didn't consider the evidence. The only thing that mattered to them was that the players gave the commissioner the power to make the decision he made, and they ruled in favor of the NFL.

Roger wins because of the union contract, not the evidence. Roger will not be given the same powers by the players when the new contract is negotiated

I agree and don't like the power Goodell has either but what does the NFL gain by suspending one of its marquee players? Elliott is not an innocent guy here in this case but the NFL has too much power. They need to fix this discipline situation for the entire league.

He's playing on Sunday....I think they may be able to tie it up in courts just like with Brady.
But at some point he's serving a 6 game suspension.

Suspended RB Ezekiel Elliott will play Week 1 against the Giants.
NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson upheld Elliott's six-game ban after Elliott's appeal process came to a close on Tuesday evening. Since the appeal wasn't settled before 4 PM ET on Tuesday, Elliott is eligible to play Sunday night. A ruling on his temporary restraining order is expected by Friday evening. That's the next critical step in this process. Week 2 is completely up in the air.

The judge on Friday may well rule Against the Elliott team's current TRO.

But be clear they would then immediately file appeal at federal level and this thing will extend many months ahead.

Bottom line is Zeke unwilling to take a $2million salary hit combined with a public ruling that he committed domestic violence which could later be used against him in any number of nefarious ways by future women friends etc

Unfortunately, Goodell and the NFL are too entrenched at this point.

If they back down on the number of games and/or do not fully litigate the ongoing appeals by Elliott's legal team it will create precedent which would impede future suspensions up to the end of current CBA
