They probably have to cut the kid just so someone on the team doesn't kill him. You have to feel for Rivers, they've been really snakebit for years with all the close games(strange endings) they've had.
These teams that tank to get the potential franchise qb better have an offensive line in place that can keep him alive. Otherwise they will stay awful and the young qb will likely be a bust.
