Ottawa lost their starting QB Trevor Harris a couple of weeks ago, only to have his replacement Drew Tate injure himself on the weekend. Tate might dress as an emergency back-up but is very unlikely to play, meaning 3rd stringer Ryan Lindley is the likely to get his first CFL start on Friday in Winnipeg. Lindley's only real playing time came last week after Tate got injured and he wasn't very impressive going 7/14 for 76 yards. Prior to that, he'd been used only in short yardage situations by the RedBlacks who are 5-7-1 this year. Meanwhile, the Bombers enter this game with a record of 8-3 and are coming off their bye week looking to stay within range of the league leading Stampeders. They've had the highest scoring offense all season and should have many short field opportunities to add to their totals.

Play - Winnipeg (-7)

Season - 12-2

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • City of Winnipeg
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

These thunderstorms are the result of highly unstable air aloft combined with a low pressure system moving through Minnesota. Thunderstorms began late this morning in western Manitoba and are expected to spread through the Red River Valley and eastern Manitoba late this afternoon into this evening, increasing in severity as they move eastward.

The threat of severe thunderstorms will end later this evening as the system moves into Ontario.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Listening to the pre-game show on the internet and they just mentioned that the start of the game is being delayed by at least 20 minutes. Miserable conditions with thunderstorms and hail likely during the game; total plummeting and the Bombers now -8 almost everywhere.
