Horse racing is a global sport. There are few types of breeds in horse racing, mule racing, Paint Horse racing, Arabians, Quarter Horses, and Thoroughbreds. Today, we are talking about the similarities and differences between Thoroughbred racing and Quarter Horse Racing. Thoroughbreds are bred to run long distances on dirt, turf, and synthetic surfaces while Quarter Horse are bred to run shorter distances. In thoroughbred racing, there is the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes while Quarter Horse racing has the Ruidoso Futurity, Rainbow Futurity, and All American Futurity. Thoroughbred racing has the Breeders' Cup World Championships while Quarter Horse racing has the Bank of America Racing Challenge Championships. My questions to all of you in this forum, what are some of the similarities and differences between Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse Racing? Please explain
