he won $10M 12 months ago by winning the FedEx Cup championship. I think he's doing OK even if it didn't make it into the top 30 this week to defend that crown

Like any other golf star, he makes more in endorsements...

This year his game has fallen on hard times...

Would be great if he could compete with Spieth, Thomas, and DJ and a few others...

am a Rory fan. LOVE the dudes swing. I think injuries are part of it, BUT am questioning his drive for greatness. Rather, does he have it?

two major issues;

putting- a FUCKIN SHIT SHOW
125-100yds out- his wedge game is lost

stone cold beautiful. An ATM machine...BUT, Rory is it just going to be about money?............... legacy?

Congrats to Justin Thomas winning the Fed Ex Championship. This golf season saw 18 tournaments won by players 25 yrs of age and under. Unprecedented. The closest in recent history is the 2000 season at 10...... and 9 of those were won by Woods.

The game is so strong now, just fantastic.................Spieth, Rory, Rahm, Johnson, Thomas, Day, Matsuyama...etc etc.............a crapshoot

yeah he signed for $200M to wear Nike gear and $100M to play with TaylorMade clubs. Hell, he's such a big deal that the TaylorMade acquisition (was about half billion bucks) was contingent on him signing to use those sticks. Like i said, he's doing just fine

fuck all that....was my bama boy, JT, that won the FedEx Cup title today. Roll Tide!

that rory video- at 1min 14sec-his hips fire again and that gives him that extra 20 yards. sounds good- only problem- the ball is out about 20 yards already

Rory has been injured this year. He is also having fun being a newly wed with an I assumed now retired PGA office chick.

lol, i hear ya. Was puzzled when Finch said that. Here's my take after giving it some thought (keep in mind am not a professional golfer)

golf is fascinating in that the damn ball is static. Just sits there ........waiting to be hit. How hard can it be? Yet most recreational golfers can't break 100. For me the main reason is a lack of understanding of the swing. Are unconscious is convinced the harder we swing the farther the ball goes. Nope. We see folks on the course gripping the club with tremendous pressure at address, and when they get to the top ? the arms and shoulders lead the downswing. TOAST. They are tyring to HIT the ball, not swing through it

What Ian is saying, I believe, is that when Rory wants to give the driver an extra boost he fires QUICKER with the lower body, esp the hips. We see that in the video

these pros have tremendous lag on the downswing its cause they led with the LOWER BODY. One pro, in particular, has ridiculous lag. Sergio Garcia

freeze it at :28 sec. ..........remarkable.

not to beat a dead horse, here's a great video-- it provides factual numbers.

the main take from this , imo, is - Speed (distance) is generated from torque created (more shoulder turn less hip turn)and rotation. The arms? they go for the ride...:)

Tiger isn't coming back...Tiger doesn't have the mental strength to compete anymore...You saw how the shots go haywire at times... the back is just a convenient excuse now..

'doesn't have the mental strength '

LOL. He's the greatest closer the game has ever seen

you have no clue the extent of his injuries.Neither do I. Your dislike of him is gravitating to a better story....
