They played great...defense needed to step up at the end. Coaches choke when they don't sub for the defense on those drives....you need fresh kids at the end of the game.

I wouldnt back Michigan State the rest of the year. Im not sure why people are not realizing they are inexperienced, untalented and lack leadership. I posted in groundhogs thread that in 23 years of sports gambling, ND would be the biggest bet of my life. MSU had a Baylor type of sex scandel this summer and lost several starters. They also had a terrible locker room incident where on of the starters was sleeping with a teammates girlfriend. This divided the team big time. Last count I saw, was 7 starters lost from a 3-9 team. My daughter attends MSU and I follow them closely. They are simply not a good football team.

I'm looking through the stats for the week and this one really stood out (I didn't watch the game).

Penn State ran 99 plays to Iowa's 45! Wow!

TOS, PSU 39:30 to Iowa's 20:01! WTF?

Yards:

PSU rushing 295 to 82 / passing PSU 284 to 191

PSU had 2 turnover's to Iowa's 1

How was this a 2 point game?

Coach I suppose I should be the one to face the catcalls here since I liked PSU in this matchup. PSU was totally inept in the red zone. I put most of this on PSU's offensive line which isn't all that good.
People will point to Barkley's yards and say how can that be, time after time he broke a tackle or made a man miss at the line of scrimmage and turned a 0 yard gain into 10-20-30 or more. I am the biggest Barry Sanders fan ever but what Barkley did Saturday night may have been the best college RB performance I've ever seen. DVR a 2:00 AM ESPN replay of the game just for that.
McSorley was also under a lot of pressure the entire game another indication of PSU's offensive line performance.
I believe at the end of the first quarter Iowa had 17 yards of total offense, PSU spent the entire quarter within 40 yards of Iowa's end zone and had a 3-0 lead. At that point I knew I was fucked.
Outside of that the game went pretty much as I thought PSU way more yards and everything else, Iowa's 3 TD's came on a McSorley Int when he was getting drilled and threw up a meatball to Jewell right before the end of the half. Next play 20 yard TD pass. I don't know if there is somewhere you can check halftime yardage but PSU had to have a huge advantage and trailed 5 to 7. Wadley had a big TD catch and run when Iowa burned a blitz and a late TD run. Take out those 3 plays and Iowa had 147 yards of total offense.
PSU is overrated when they face a very talented, fast defense that line is gonna be lost.

That was a good game. I never knew that the children's hospital looked over the stadium. Although it made me sad every time they showed the kids as i wanted to escape from reality and watch the game

Thanks Sol. I heard Barkley went nuts....but he's gotta get in the end zone more w/ those kind of numbers!

Barkley is a STUD period. He might be one of the best college RBs I have ever seen. Some of the runs he had in the Iowa game were absolutely ridiculous

Easy money on Michigan State, I love spots like that especially getting a softer line due to playing a non-strong team.
