My father and grandfather took me to Steelers games when I was just a pup, I was at the game for the immaculate reception. My grandfather fought in WWII, my father in the Korean conflict, and I had the misfortune of fighting in a very dark battle. The fact is, each of us fought for something the country felt was right, and for the Steelers to decline coming out for the national anthem is a disgrace. How many NFL games would be played on this day were it not for the courage of our fighting men and women in the armed services? Not a fucking one, that's how many.

Not sure how I feel about it yet.

Maybe some players were going to kneel & the organization thought the best thing would be to keep them off the field period so they couldn't & avoid controversy & critique of them doing it...

Patriotism is the ability to criticize the country you love because you want the best for it. Imagine being an inner city black kid growing up in America, it's not exactly the easiest of times and they have a right to stand up for what they perceive to be an injustice towards them and their broad community

Absolutely embarrassing and a complete disgrace. And if it's an issue like Hache mentioned, shame on the leaders of that organization for not getting control of the situation. Either way, a complete disgrace.

Give me a break. They have all the freedom and opportunity as anyone else. Stay in school, don't deal drugs, stay out of jail. I did it, lots of people did it.

The NFL would exist without the military. Put down the bottle Aesop.

So much for the unity that the Steelers were trying to accomplish. One lineman was standing outside the tunnel standing, with his hand on his heart, singing the national anthem. Wow.

That one guy shared my sentiment... I'm with my team mates not being on sideline but I must be there still for the NA

1) This asinine remark coming from a Canadian. 2) I work with deeply tanned Americans weekly, Yes, I use the term "deeply tanned," I lived in Africa for 6 years, more than any person in this country claiming to be some "african American."

My head is spinning, I held the highest of regard for Tomlin, this was the worst horseshittery in history. I'm actually sad to claim I'm from Pittsburgh.

I guess I have a little different take of the ongoings here. Being a 71 year old Veteran, I take the National Anthem pretty seriously. I have said again and again, if you are going out to take a knee for the Anthem, then stay in the Locker Room until it is over. For those that want to honor the Anthem, let them go out and do what they and most of the country do, stand at attention, hand over heart, then play the game. Pretty simple to me, but obviously not so much for some all of a sudden. So sad.........

That guy was an army ranger. Tomlin did this for team unity not a protest.

Many are fed up with Trump, and this is more of a protest against him and not the flag.

I was originally against all these guys kneeling, but the more I look at it its not disrespecting the flag at all. Its a very public protest against the guy in charge.

The road goes on forever and the party never ends.
