Thanks to Gasman and his wife's family restaurant.

We don't have authentic gumbo up here, it was really good and something special for us. I hate to admit this but I have to, my wife actually set the table with forks and no spoons, honest, no joke.

Anyhow, the restaurant is obviously experienced at shipping a large quantity of gumbo, so it's something they do often. They included a brochure in the shipment, telling the story of the restaurant and all the celebrities that have eaten there. The list mentioned Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Jimmy Carter, Rodney Dangerfield, Chris Rock, Bear Bryant (that's for RT) and several others.

Thanks to Gas and his lovely wife (he's in way over his head)

Good stuff Willie...that's funny about the forks! Glad you guys were able to enjoy - although I prefer chicken and sauage gumbo over seafood gumbo, but theirs is very good.

Yes they have a celebrity in there about once a month or so ranging from professional golfers to country stars, actors and actresses, political folks etc.

John Daly stays in their parking lot with his RV every year for one of the golf tournaments that takes place down here. Dan Mullin (MSU head coach) is a regular in there as well as Emeril. My father in law and John Grisham write letters to each other every so often and it has been mentioned in two of his novels.

One day I'll hit you up for my favorite foods of all time fresh steamed lobster and New England Clam Chowder....gonna look at a Yankees Red Sox game for next year, in Boston

Happy National Gumbo Day

[h=1]National Gumbo Day – October 12, 2021[/h]

National Gumbo Day is celebrated on October 12. It’s a time to appreciate this heavily seasoned, savory state dish of Louisiana. Although, gumbo is a perfect bit of indulgence any day, anywhere! Gumbo typically consists of strongly-flavored stock with meat or shellfish, a thickener, and seasoned vegetables. The seasoned vegetables may include celery, bell peppers, and onions. In the Cajun cuisine, the trio is known as the “holy trinity. Most people serve gumbo over rice. Curl up on the couch and savor the flavors on National Gumbo Day, or enjoy with family and friends.
