Tough to pick games early on in the season, so going small. 0.25 units per pick.

Blues +165 : 25/41.25
Leafs -110 : 27.5/25
Leafs/Jets under 6 -105 : 26.25/25
Flyers/Sharks under 5.5 -130 : 32.50/25

Well shoot howdy, I must say. These penalties are way out of hand, soooo many power plays. Unless they adjust, the play will be for more overs instead of unders.
Finished +.075 unites. lol

Pittsburgh got killed lol. Nice way to start the season, champs!

-0.25 units on the day, -0.175 units on the season. This is why I go small early on.

Anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? OVERS today.

So far 9 out of 12 overs, with 1 push I believe. Penalties seem to be up - yesterday each game had between 9-14 penalties called, with the exception of OTT/WASH, which had 6.

My concern here is the linesmakers aren't blind to this, and my thought is that all of this info (lot of penalties early in year, high scoring games) are baked into the line. I am on 2 of the 3 unders tonight FWIW.

Yeah the penalties are insane - haven't had the chance to watch any games live yet, but from what I read they're being extra picky on slashing and a botched face off is a penalty now instead of a do-over?

Yes, slashes are being called more - honestly, I think this enforcement isn't a bad thing as some blatant slashes have often been missed in prior seasons, and many good players get injured by lesser talented players due to the slashes. However, the "over-enforcement" is bad too - hopefully the ref's will fix that.

The faceoff rule, not sure what to make of that. You get one freebie - if you get thrown out of circle second time on same faceoff - bench minor. Players will adjust to this eventually, but it is a little strange of a rule. Isn't it penalty enough to have, in most cases, your second or third best faceoff guy taking a faceoff if your first guy or two gets tossed?

Yeah at least the slashing rule is for player safety.. The faceoff rule seems odd to me. Like they're just trying to generate more Power Plays to add excitement. Hockey is already exciting to watch, we don't need to make it more unpredictable for our teams! haha
