10 minutes remaining in the game up 11 NC state goes for 2 instead of kicking the xp to go up 12 (2 touchdowns basically)

is the coach really that dumb?

not very good at math, the XP makes the Cards need two TD's. A failed 2pt conversion and all they need is a FG & 1 TD with a 2 point conversion

I didn't watch it, but I knew what happened when I saw a scoring update

Coaches do make stupid mistakes sometimes

Only explanation I can see is that their kicking game is pretty bad. Kicker missed a 35 yarder before that.

My favorite was this dummy right before the end of the 1h... literally let Louisville get enough yards to get in fg range, then calls a timeout trying to ice a kicker in the first half, then immediately getting a substitution penalty out of the timeout he called making it closer.

Bad move but State ends up converting the two and then blocking a Louisville XP. So in his mind, and probably the media for that matter, he's a genius.
