New Mexico State Aggies at Appalachian State Mountaineers
Line: Appalachian State -13.5
Halfway through the fourth quarter, New Mexico State, which closed as a 13.5-point underdog, led 31-24. But a late flurry of touchdowns by Appalachian State would result in rough loss for those who bet the underdog.
The Mountaineers scored three touchdowns in a five-minute span, capped off by Jalin Moore's 56-yard run to give his team a 45-31 lead with 2:12 left. New Mexico State would get one last chance for a backdoor cover, but after driving into Appalachian State territory, Tyler Rogers was picked off for the sixth time in the game, resulting in a half-point loss for those who bet the Aggies.
Final score: Appalachian State 45, New Mexico State 31 (Appalachian State covers).
Kansas State Wildcats at Texas Longhorns
Line: Texas -4.5
Overtime in college football seems to always result in a bad beat for bettors, with those on Kansas State +4.5 Saturday joining the club.
The Wildcats led 27-24 late in the fourth quarter, but Texas would tie it with a Joshua Rowland 34-yard field goal with 1:37 left. After Kansas State's Jesse Ertz was picked off by DeShon Elliott, the Longhorns had a chance to win it in regulation. This time however, Rowland missed a 45-yard attempt that would have won the game for Texas and given those on Kansas State plus the points a winning bet.
After the teams exchanged touchdowns in the first overtime, Kansas State's Matthew McCrane missed a 53-yarder to set Texas up for the win in double overtime. All the Longhorns needed was a field goal, but unfortunately for those on the Wildcats, they won it with a Chris Warren III 2-yard touchdown on third-and-goal to win by six.

SMU Mustangs at Houston Cougars
Line: Houston -10, over/under 61
After three quarters, Houston led 28-22 over SMU, as the Mustangs were looking to improve to 6-0 against the spread this season.
Less than two minutes into the fourth quarter, Duke Catalon's 16-yard touchdown put Houston up 35-22, marking the first time SMU trailed by double digits in the game. The Mustangs would proceed to drive into Houston territory on each of their final three possessions, but came up empty each time, with the last two drives resulting in Terrell Williams picking off Ben Hicks. Despite outgaining Houston by 81 yards, SMU lost by 13 and failed to cover for the first time in 2017.
Not only was it a bad beat for those who took the Mustangs, but no points in the final 13:24 left bettors who took over 61 also shaking their heads, as they came up four points short.

Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles

Prior to Sunday, the over had hit 11 times in Arizona's past 12 road games, and it looked like that trend would continue in Philadelphia.
The Eagles led 31-7 entering the fourth quarter, with those on the over needing seven points to win their bet. After the Cardinals turned it over on downs in Philadelphia territory, the Eagles marched down the field to the Arizona 5-yard line. On first-and-goal, LeGarrette Blount ran it in the end zone, but a holding call on the Eagles brought the play back. Philadelphia would end up settling for a field goal to take a 34-7 lead, with bettors still needing four points to hit their over.
The Cardinals got the ball back and quickly drove into Philadelphia territory to set up one of the most excruciating gambling losses this NFL season. Carson Palmer connected with J.J. Nelson for what appeared to be a 29-yard touchdown to push the total over. But after the play was reviewed, it was determined that Nelson fumbled the ball before reaching the end zone, resulting in a touchback and Eagles football. Carson Wentz would kneel down a couple of times to seal the fate of those on the over, who lost after not one, but two touchdowns were taken off the board in the final minutes.
