would expect NOTHING less from Mr Lemieux;

"The Pittsburgh Penguins respect the institution of the Office of the President, and the long tradition of championship teams visiting the White House. We attended White House ceremonies after previous championships -- touring the historic building and visiting briefly with Presidents George H.W. Bush and Barack Obama -- and have accepted an invitation to attend again this year.
"Any agreement or disagreement with a president's politics, policies or agenda can be expressed in other ways. However, we very much respect the rights of other individuals and groups to express themselves as they see fit."

would there even be a NHL franchise in Pittsburgh if it wasnt for Mario?

look at Pittsburgh now? the game has grown in the region. They host various minor hockey tournaments (mostly HL, not rep) open to other states and Canadian teams . And they have fairly good AAA representation now, Pittsburgh Penguins Elite-- the '04, '06, '07 and '08 birth years are ALL in the top 15 in USA minor hockey rankings-- DAMN GOOD!!!!!!!!

has Mario had the same effect in Pittsburgh as Howe did in Detroit?

The Pittsburgh Penguins visited the White House as Stanley Cup champions for the second straight year on Tuesday.

Penguins' championship teams have now been hosted at the White House by three U.S. presidents - George H.W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump. The Penguins have won five Cups overall (1991, 1992, 2009, 2016, 2017).
All 19 players who remain on the Penguins roster from the 2016-17 championship season attended. The international roster included seven players from the U.S., seven from Canada, two from Sweden and one each from Finland, Russia and Germany.
The Penguins are in Washington D.C. to face the rival Washington Capitals on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by NBCSN

easy now. The Blackhawks were swept a year ago. That's right...Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook.......BROOMS CAME OUT. Nashville took them to the woodshed.

Like what i've seen with Toews this year. He looked slow a yr ago. He finally got a prolonged break. A tremendous two-way player ......the heart of that team. IMO, this is a big yr for him.Is he done? Saad and Sharp come back...at the cross roads ...:)

Toews I don't think was healthy most of last year,but getting Saad back was huge for Toews line.

Hockey players are conservative and never cause controversy.

Most of them aren't American. Canadians are actually very progressive, they just don't make everything about politics.
