He's a virtual lock to get in unless he pulls an OJ

Going to finish his career top 15 in rebounds, blocks and defensive win shares. As well as top 30 in overall win shares. 3 time defensive player of the year.

People love to hate Dwight. I don't like him.

Creates a cognitive bias but that stuff tends to die as the years go by. Vince Carter is lauded as a respectable veteran who had a HOF career, Terrell Owens is going to be in the HOF sooner than later. These guys were obviously considered mercurial in their primes, to say the least.

A lot of that intangible measuring that fans tend to try to do just fades over time.

Yea I don't care for him for the way he handled Orlando and then everything after. We saw him come out as this good kid who went to a smaller Christian school, with a fun loving personality, and for better or worse whose parents shielded him from a lot of things. It was hard not to root for him. Now you mention him and people are all like I don't like him. But that's clearly my bias and kind of the current stigma with him. In another 5-10 years people will be looking at his numbers and remember him more for the numbers that they see on paper and really rightfully so.

Agreed. His number will eventually get him in.
When Howard did show a strong effort he was dominate on the defensive end. His lack of effort (from reports) to improve his offense were also disappointing to hear. If he was able to develop just 1 strong post move, or shoot a half way decent free throw, he could have added a +10 more to his ppg. Like may pros, he seemed to rely solely on his athleticism.

Hall of fame is such a joke. These days basically anyone that made a couple all star games or pro bowls gets in. And if they don't they pull the race card and go on espn and join the liberal network to lobby on their behalf.

yet u have high school kids that are better now than pro athletes were in the 1960's.

back before the money got out of hand, a lot of those guys were roofers in the off season.

how many high school baseball players are better than babe Ruth? Thousands a year. I am light years better than Otto graham at playing qb. Yet he is a hall of famer. Where's my
