I think people overestimate how badly football players want to keep playing, especially after retiring. It took a close personal connection and a zillion dollars to get Cutler back on the field and he had just retired.

Sure GB would be about as good of a situation as there could be for Romo to come back. But I'm sure he had plenty of good situations available this offseason too.

Lots of football players retire young when they could still play. It's a brutal game and destroys your body and mind , even for positions not in the trenches. It's not like baseball and basketball where they have to drag guys away before they embarass themselves further.

Sounds great but I think Romo had his spine torn in half on several different occasions. If he didn't have a bad back, I think he'd be in in a heartbeat.

He sure can't take a hit like Favre could.

Speaking of Favre.......

Didn't Tony Romo also have "Collar Bone" recurring Chronic Injury? I know Runmaker said his Back was the issue but I thought it was Collar Bone that kept getting Romo sent to IR.

Chase Daniel or a deal for Matt Barkley is their best bet

You can't be serious. Romo has gotten rave reviews for being a novice color man on CBS. He isn't going anywhere. He has a long career set up on CBS. Jim Nantz is only 58, he is probably going to stay with CBS for another 10 years or more. You would think Green Bay is some dream job. The team has a ton of injured players. Romo isn't mobile enough to play behind a banged offensive line. He also isn't going to leave CBS high and dry walking out on Nantz in the middle of the season.

Absolutely zero chance he ever plays a down in the NFL again. He has a cushy job with a nice salary that keeps him around the game he loves without taking the physical punishment. Plus he alerted his agency months ago that he would not leave CBS to play again as he knew someone like Peyton would take his spot in a heartbeat.

Too bad Y.A. Tittle died!

Haha. Can always kick the dust off of Archie Manning. See if he has anything left. Can be the 1st player to play his son in a game, collect an NFL check and social security at the same time.
