New GamblingCompliance report predicts a bright fiscal future ahead of Sports Betting USADC Newswire · October 19, 2017

Legalised sports betting in the United States would generate up to $5.8bn in GGR, according to analysis undertaken by GamblingCompliance, the leading provider of independent business intelligence to the global gaming industry. The findings are part of a report compiled by GamblingCompliance and available to download for free ahead of Clarion Gaming’s Sports Betting USA Conference (November 14-15, Convene, New York). To download the 20 page report visit http://www.sportsbettingusaconference.com/gambling-comp-report.

Produced by the team responsible for leading gaming events including ICE VOX, EiG and GiGse, the two day conference will evaluate the appetite amongst all key stakeholders to repeal the 1992 Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), which effectively outlawed sports betting in the US with the exception of sports lotteries in Oregon, Delaware and Montana as well as licensed sports pools in Nevada. Sports Betting USA, which will feature a total of 50 thought leaders, will serve as a meeting and information sharing platform for the world’s of sports and gambling.

Distinguished panellist, Rick Parry, whose CV includes spells as CEO of both Liverpool Football Club and the Premier League as well as being former Chairman of the UK DCMS Sports Betting Integrity Panel, believes that prohibition simply doesn’t work. He explained: “There is ample evidence that Americans want to bet on sport and they do. By legalising and regulating, it is possible to put in place measures that protect the integrity of sport, consumers and the vulnerable.”

He added: “In Great Britain our match fixing concerns come not from the well regulated European markets but from the lightly regulated Asian markets. From a match fixing point of view you have the worst of all worlds in the U.S. – a substantial, highly liquid, unregulated market in your own backyard.”

Vic Salerno, President, US Fantasy, the Las Vegas head-quartered provider of skill-based fantasy wagering contests, believes that Sports Betting USA could kick start the legalization process. He said: “The question is, would you rather bet with Caesars Palace or the State of New Jersey instead of an off shore bookmaker where you have no control of your money and have no guarantee of being paid? We have to educate the legislators and the regulatory authorities on how betting on games legally will help keep the game honest by seeing where the money is being bet and tracking who’s betting. This conference, the first of its type to be held in the United States, will hopefully be a guide for future forums and in the process achieve the legalization of sports betting across the USA.”

Sports Betting USA is the first event dedicated exclusively to the development of sports betting in the USA. Produced by the team at Clarion Gaming, Sports Betting USA will explore the legislative path to the repeal of PASPA; demystify misconceptions around sports integrity; outline data monetization strategies, fan engagement opportunities; new revenue streams for rights holders and present routes to a regulated market for operators wishing to add this vertical to their offer.

The problem is...... just like with drugs(some people say it's a bit different)no one wants to sign off on making it legal because then those politicians get blamed for everything negative that comes along with it. Everytime someone has an addiction and blows their life savings they will be blamed. Even though negative things come along with both making drugs and gambling illegal......it doesn;t matter because they have the deniability to say that ......they are against it so it doesn't matter it's on the individual. And yes.....it always is....but they don't care they just don't want it to look bad on them if they were to make it legal. It has nothing to do with peoples rights...whats fair.......or what might work. We have seen makking certain things such as drugs....alcohol....gambling....sex.......illegal or restricting such activities never works. I would say legalize it and use some of the money to help those addicted and offer responsibility in life as both a benefit and a negative. Your life choices can only be on you.....good or bad let responsibility be the answer
