Wife of paralyzed soldier who was shot in the head searching for Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl cries on the stand describing her husband's injuries after he was left unable to speak
Prosecutors called Shannon Allen (left leaving court) to the stand in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on Monday to discuss the injuries suffered by her husband when he was shot during a search mission for Bowe Bergdahl (inset) after he walked off his post in Afghanistan in 2009. Her husband, National Guard Master Sgt Mark Allen, was shot in the head during an insurgent ambush. He was left unable to speak and is paralyzed over much of his body (right). Bergdahl faces up to life in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he endangered comrades by walking off his post.
