Really looking forward to this have wanted to visit for several years.....

Booked 5+ days in May - Cubs are in town so definitely going to go to a game - Looking for ticket advice.
Hoping the Blackhawks are still in the PO's and have a home game...that would be an amazing experience

Thinking of staying on OHIO ST east at the ACME seems nice and central decent rate and solid reviews...

Looking for local advice on location to stay, things to do up and coming restaurants.

Thanks in advance

it's been many years but the memories are great! i ran the chicago marathon in 93, 94, and 96.

93 i stayed in the business district only because they had a weekend deal. was a bit pricey... the hawks owner hotel?

the next 2 times i stayed closer to the bar scene. can't go to a big city without hitting the liquid pleasure centres:)

friday would be drinking night on rush and division. saturday recuperation and sunday run the 26er.

i wanted weed 1 night so i found a girl just off rush and accompanied her to a nearby hood or project
waiting outside while she went in. she came back with a gram and as i was walking alone back to my destination 3 kids rode by me on their bikes and said, " you stay away from our women".

i mean u just never know what could have happened but all was good.

if anyone can tell me what the hood is close to rush and division? is it the infamous cabrini-green?

I always stubhub for Cubs games. You can also find scalpers galore right outside the stadium, and they are legit, but I prefer to have in hand before I get to the area.

For hotels, I have always had good luck at the magnificent mile Marriot.

If you are staying downtown you will be taking the red line from the loop to the Addison stop. Will take you about 15 minutes to get to Wrigleyville. It's super easy.

My favorite place to go pre-game nowadays is Deuce's on Clark. 2 minute walk from the park. Their food is good, they have plenty of space, nice clean bathrooms. Nice place to get a sandwich and people-watch. Get the candied bacon app.

You will probably want to hang around Wrigleyville after the game for awhile, the press of humanity trying to get on the L is something you wanna avoid.

Oh, and btw it's fucking COLD in May at Wrigley. Check the weather and dress accordingly.

Blackhawks playoff game is pricey but worth every penny IMO.

Have fun!

The dining seen changes monthly tell me what you like to eat, i will send you in the right direction.

When in May exactly, you have the restaurant show in town in May, and room rates will be out of site, so make sure you are not around those dates, those dates are May 19-22.

As far as hotels there are some really good ones...Anything a long Michigan ave, Gold Coast you cannot go wrong. When you narrow it down reach out to me and i can help you a long

that would have been cabrini-green, probably lucky you weren't robbed or shot. That's all gone now though.

If my memory is correct, Gibson's was a great place to
eat. pricey, but very good. I think we had pizza at a
place called lou Maroni's . great pie, but it was the heaviest
and densest pizza I've ever had. feel free to correct me
if i'm in error or remembered inaccurately.

Yeah Gibsons is great. Comparable to Morton's but better IMO, definitely a cooler atmosphere..

Lou Malnati's is also my favorite pizza place in Chicago. Giordano's 2nd.

Never had Malnati's but we would eat at Giordano's when I used to go up there as a kid. Good stuff. Due was another spot.

Make sure to spend a little time at Millenium Park.

Walk the magnificent mile on Michigan Ave.

Go to the Willis Tower skydeck.

Walk under Lakeshore Drive and up the beach.
