Bears favored over struggling Packers for first time in nine years
Jeff Dickerson

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The updated line from Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook on Tuesday lists the Chicago Bears (3-5) as 5-point favorites in their rematch against the Green Bay Packers (4-4) at Soldier Field on Sunday.

It's the first time the Bears have been favored over Green Bay since Dec. 22, 2008, when Chicago won 20-17 in overtime. Chicago actually was favored by 4 points on that Monday night and failed to cover the spread.

The change of heart in Vegas is due to Green Bay's current three-game losing streak without quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a broken collarbone versus the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 15.

Rodgers owns the Bears.

The All-Pro quarterback has had 11 games with multiple touchdown passes against Chicago, including eight games with three or more.

Rodgers is 15-4 lifetime against the Bears, including Week 4's 35-14 beat-down at Lambeau Field, in which he threw for four touchdowns.

But Rodgers' replacement, Brett Hundley, has one touchdown pass and four interceptions for a 58.3 quarterback rating.

The Bears are in the midst of a minor resurgence, having won two of their last three, but they still rank 27th in points scored (16.8).

So it's no surprise that the Bears and Packers have the lowest over/under total (38) of any Week 10 game on the board.

Under looks attractive, don't see enough points from either team to get into any garbage time situation.

Maybe if a team gets a 3pt lead early they will start running the clock.

Seriously.... Its starting to look like Rogers has been real MVP for a while now, more extreme drop off than with Luck and the Colts.

They would have to do better than a FG and a safety to cover.

gb team except for hundley have quit . bears win su

GB is weak defending the pass. Secondary banged up and struggling. Stafford could exploit that. Can Trubisky?

I would pass at this point laying 6, though if I had to I would go with Bears, GB is crumbling, disappointed. I think the Bears are still optimistic about the future and will show up, at home, against a bitter rival. They have a good thing going and know Trubisky can be a good one and draft 2 WRs and sign one free agent and they can go 10-6 next year.

I like him for the long run but Trubisky is not a true NFL passer yet (again the key: 20-30 yard strikes), either, so the Bears offense is not going to put up a lot of points and take advantage of the GB pass defense. I wonder if after the bye they will let him unload a bit, though their WRs cannot get separation, much, anyway.

There will be some serious "drinking" in Packer-land during the long-cold winter months ahead.

When teams "throw-in-the-towel" the players often take-on other "activities" to fill the void; They start chasing women in excess; that while going through the motions of playing football can be a dangerous combination.
