Before the season started I bet Alabama to win it all at +300. Now it’s at -200 on my book and Georgia is +500. Alabama and Georgia are clearly the best 2 teams in my opionion and one of them is more than likely gonna win the championship. I’m thinking about about putting some on Georgia to hedge a bit. Anyone think that another team not Alabama/Georgia has a chance to win the championship?

The value is with Georgia. Even if you think Alabama maybe better I would take Georgia +500 all day over Bama -200

I second X17's view, but I'd wait, let's see what happens with the SEC Championship game in Atlanta. That's rolling the dice, but if Bama were to win, that would give even more $$ to Georgia in the playoff, and I think they're gonna win it all. Just one man's opinion. GL

Sorry should clarify. I already bet Alabama +300 (300/900) so I’m thinking about hedging some Georgia +500 right now. I imagine the odds for Georgia would drop as the weeks go on and they continue dominating. But of course there’s also the chance after the SEC championship only one will make it to the playoffs.

My thought of hedging on Georgia is that I believe they’ll both go 12-0 into the SEC championship and have a competitive game so both will make the playoffs. And if they stay #1 and #2 there’s a good chance one will win the championship.

Picking the college football National Champion team two months before the final tally's are in and the play-offs are over can be dangerous proposition but it would be reasonable to have "strong leans" toward either Alabama and Georgia based on the way they are playing today.

Any thoughts as to who could upset the juggernaut of these two SEC football powerhouses.

Unless chaos happens both will not make the playoffs. Just my opinion.

“The juggernaut that is these two SEC powerhouses?” Maybe Bama but they are wracked with injury and have struggled vs the only decent teams they have played this year. UGA hasn’t done anything in 10+ years and while looking good this year, are hardly a juggernaut. No way both make playoff. That being said, I would hedge with small wagers on Uga, Clemson, and maybe a couple other of the top 6. I think it’s wide open this year. Not anywhere near like the last 2 years where Clemson and Bama were a step above everyone else.

I like Clemson again

UGA will probably be +250 for SEC title game if it's Bama/Georgia so just play ML in that game. No value at all in betting 5/1 they beat bama and win two playoff games when they they will be a TD dog vs Bama. If they were favored in all games, like Bama will be, then that's different story

just him SEC ML and then will be more or less a pk'em in the playoff games so when you add those up 3.5x1.9x1.9 the real odds are more like 10/1 or 11/1. the value for you is on ML sec championship game

Let me jump off a long pier into a shallow ocean. IF, and I personally think it's a good IF, both of them make it to Atlanta undefeated, there is no doubt in my mind (and contrary to public opinion here, it is sound) that both are in the playoff. We've been there, done that before they even had a playoff. So IMO, who do ya like??? Personally, I like Georgia to hoist the trophy, someone above likes Clemson, that ain't happenin, I'm here to tell ya that. Gonna be Roll Tide or Dawgs.

Absolutely. Clemson, Notre Dame, Auburn, Oklahoma, and TCU all have a chance, and they're all undervalued. I got Clemson at +1300 a week ago, while OU was better than 30 to 1. Great value.

Alabama is rightly favored, and you did well to get them at +300 earlier, so congrats on that.

I hope not. That's just so unfair. Not unfair to other conferences but unfair to the SEC champ. Why should Georgia have to beat Bama twice (or vice versa)?

So let me ask ya something......WHAT game were you watching when the Mad Hatter and the Who were fighting Bama to a 9-6 decision??? I've never seen a better college football game, NEVER! Act 2 sucked, but it was the first game that got us to the second game. I've already stated this at least twice, history tends to repeat itself and history is heading that way right now.

I watched that game, and I enjoyed it because I like defensive football, and because I have some ties to LSU and wanted them to win. It was great. It would have been better without Act 2.

you guys are living in the past. The sec was DOMINANT then, from 2006-2012 or whatever. Since then, Alabama has been dominant and the rest of the conference has basically blown. Georgia looks good but the loser of the Sec champ game will NOT make the playoff barring collapses from more than 2 of the group of Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tcu, Wisconsin, and possibly Washington. You guys can’t get caught up in the past when running through the SEC meant something. Now it doesn’t mean anything more than running through any other conference. I am not convinced uga and Bama don’t each lose a game. Then it will be a real free for all. T, you’re dead wrong about Clemson not having a chance. Granted, they are not the team they were last year with Deshaun at the helm. Rather, they are pretty much Bama’s twin. Bryant like hurtz. So now they just run the ball more and turn it over less. Position for position, they are equals. Mock drafts everywhere have them even in draft prospects and rounds/positioning. am not saying Clemson is favorite by any means but dumb to say they don’t have a shots. They are 7-0 against top 40 and have been more of an Sec level team than anyone in the sec except Bama who they have played dead even the past two years. Georgia has to show me more. It usually takes a year before you turn the train all the way around.

I'll tell ya what Jake. IF an undefeated Bama and Georgia play in Atlanta, I'll bet you a bottle of Crystal that both teams make the playoff. Sound good?

Forgive this old man's naivety T-Man but, what is "Crystal" ? If you had been willing to wager a 12-year-old bottle of Scotch I would have understood,
