I ordered on ebay last month. Received a delivery notice on 10/27 from usps as a signature was required for delivery. Went down to the post office the next day and they could not locate the package. Waited a few more days and contacted the seller to let him know that no package has been delivery. The seller has been very responsive but based on his last message it seems like he is not willing to further assist after I provided him the contact information to my local post office. I know he sent the item but i'm kind of under the idea that the seller is responsible for the delivery and he selected the carrier. At this point do you file a claim with ebay for a refund?

Hello again. So, I spoke to a woman named Rose down at your local post office several times today and they were completely unable to find it at this point. The next step now is for you to file a claim on usps.com. You will need the tracking # for the order. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you. I apologize again for this inconvenience on usps's fault. Pretty disappointing really. Have a good evening.

Seems it is their responsibiliy if they lost it. Which appears to be the case. I don't know what you do about it exactly. File a claim with them?

That package gets scanned at every destination it reaches including your local p.o., if they left you a notice it reached your local p.o., thats where the problem is. It's either at that post office or they made a mistake and returned it to the sender. I would go to the Local post office and ask to speak to the manager and have him check the scans. If it was returned it would have been scanned returned. They should hold the parcel for 10 days and you would receive a 2nd notice before it's returned.

When the mail carrier brings back an undelivered parcel it's filed away by a clerk according to the first number of your address. It's possible the clerk misfiled it and when you went to pick it up it wasn't where it was supposed to be. It was scanned received at that post office so it's on them to check all the returned parcels and try to find it. You need to speak to a manager not a clerk at the counter.

Right on the money with this post.
