Being the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft would be enough to draw the ire of Boston Celtics fans. Being anointed the next face of the hated Los Angeles Lakers can only rile up the TD Garden crowd that much more. But Lonzo Ball brought out the birds to an even greater degree on Wednesday night, likely due to his refusal to work out for the C's during the predraft process.

Lonzo Ball just got introduced to the Lakers-Celtics rivalry by getting showered with boos from the Boston crowd

Boston owned the No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft, but ultimately opted to trade down to No. 3, where the team took Duke's Jayson Tatum.

s for Ball, he didn't seem at all put off by how he was received in Beantown."It's they home," he said. "I would boo too if I was a fan."

Lonzo Ball was booed a ton on Wednesday night. He talked about his first experience playing in the Lakers-Celtics rivalry.

Why would Bostonians boo him so much harder than any other opponent who's come through so far this season?
"Second pick," Ball answered matter-of-factly.

"I've been getting booed every time we go away," he added.

Zo will have to get used to such frosty road receptions if he's going to be the biggest star in Purple and Gold down the line.

It had everything to do with Lavar coming on the Radio and talking shit about Boston and its fans.....and not letting Ball workout for Ainge.

Of course Ainge played it smooth and acted like it was no big deal. He looks like a friggin genius now by trading down to take Tatum. Someone I'd rather have over Ball and Fultz all day long!

i don't like his dad at all and his approach, BUT I understand what he is looking for and he's getting it. I'm pretty sure his website traffic is way up than before this whole thing started, endorsements (not for his kids but for himself) and all the attention he gets. He wants to set his family up, maybe his kids dont might be busts in the NBA, but by doing this things so far I believe he's already set, so I kinda understand it just using the system in his own advantage.

But by doing it he has put a huge target on the back of his kidS, not only Lonzo.
