Perfect wk 9. LAR made it look easy in NY, as did PHI, while ARI & IND did just enough against bad teams. My teasers finally have a winning record. Now I pray for some consistency w/another winning wk here.

POW 4-5, Teasers 5-4, Overall 25-17-1.

MIN -1 ½ are now up 2 gms on DET & GB for the North, & travel to WAS off their bye. WAS’ laundry list of key injuries is well known, yet they managed to pull off a rare victory @ SEA last wk to stop a 2 gm losing streak. It definitely wasn’t a clean gm, however. Cousins was sacked 6 times, but remained fearless in the pocket, despite getting hit a bunch more times. The LT spot is the issue, w/3[SUP]rd[/SUP] stringer TJ Clemmings anchoring Cousins’ blind side. Trent Williams will likely miss more gms, while backup Nsekhe will be a GTD. If neither plays, Cousins should expect more hits, because All-World DE Everson Griffen (10 sacks in 8 gms) will play despite missing some practice this wk. Griffen is a key cog in MIN’s front-7 but is my no means the only impact player. Led by stalwarts Joseph, Hunter, Kendricks & Barr, MIN is #3 vs the run & #7 vs the pass. Their effectiveness up front only makes MIN’s great secondary (I’d venture to say they’re better than both DEN & SEA’s this season) look better, w/Rhodes, Newman, Harris & Smith looking like an all-star team by themselves. W/Garcon & Jackson leaving WAS in offseason, much was made on how WAS was going to do in the passing gm. Crowder (expected to play) & now Doctson have stepped up leading to some stretching of the field. However, I expect MIN to stuff Kelley in the run gm, & not give Cousins much time to throw. Thompson has been an excellent pass catcher, but MIN has shut down notable receiving RBs this yr, like LeVeon Bell & Kamara. I also believe MIN will make hay in the ground gm thanks to their revamped oline. Last yr MIN suffered a slew of injuries that resulted in starting 5 different LT’s. This yr, FA pickup Riley Reiff as stabilized the left side, & MIN is enjoying tremendous depth all along the line. Not coincidentally, MIN’s “O” has enjoyed great success, whether it’s Bradford or Keenum @ QB or Dalvin Cook or Latavius Murray @ RB. Diggs is fully back too (only 4 catches vs CLE), so that will only open up lanes for Thielen, Rudolph & McKinnon. MIN should win the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball, which is the key to winning any gm. Also riding tremendous trend w/teams off bye from London (now an amazing 11-0-1).

MIN 24
WAS 17

Honorable Mentions:

1 Unit NYJ -2 ½: Jets a rd fav. Ugh. But, TB will be w/out Winston & Mike Evans. They also have notable injuries on “D”, which hasn’t been playing well even when healthy. McCown has been a renaissance @ QB & will battle another career NFL backup in Fitzpatrick. I think the more balanced NYJ win here off a longer wk, despite losing Matt Forte.

1 Unit CLE +11: CLE also off the bye from London, but they do have some other elements that help support a cover here. DET is off a div rival (GB) & short wk. CLE’s “D” is not bad, so if Kizer & co can sustain some drives & not turn it over, this could be a battle.

3 Units Wormy Teaser:

MIN +11 ½
PIT +3
NYJ +10 ½
DAL +16

Cleveland very well could catch Detroit in a bit of a let down mode. I'm thinking Detroit might just want to get out with a W in this one. I still can't bet on Cleveland yet because they haven't won a game in a really long time. If they were a covering most of these spreads I might consider them.

I will be at the Pitt/Indy game tomorrow with my son. I didn't play it but was tempting to take Pitt. They will most likely pound the Colts on the ground and Ben will hit some long passes for big plays. I just want to see a good game and not a blow out!

good luck this week my friend

I wouldn't be so sure of a blowout my friend! I think w/Luck firmly out of the picture, that adds some stability to Brissett & "O". And IND's "D" hasn't been awful. Ben is definitely on the decline too, so they're not as fearsome on "O" as they should be. PIT's "D" is what's really standing out.

Have fun man, I'm very jealous. All the way out in Hawaii, we have to fly thousands of miles to see a NFL gm! Funny enough, the only reg season gm I've ever seen was in TB! Colossal matchup between RG3 & Josh Freeman! Lol.

Have faith in the home team Gravy! They just gotta keep it close. Definitely not asking for any miracles!

You know I cant stand the Browns and I hope they go 0-16 so I can laugh some more and go to the parade

Ugh.

Looks like LT Trent Williams is back for WAS & Everson Griffen is a surprise inactive today! That huge advantage is out the window. MIN's secondary will have to be extra sharp. Let's hope MIN can still be stout against the run which should lead to obvious passing downs for Cousins.
