Guy became the joke of the UFC after his loss to GSP.

But if he beats Gastelum on short-notice, then he's back in the game and primed for a TITLE/RETIREMENT bout in London in four months to end his career.

His loss to GSP. He never thought he'd lose to him in a million years and he got choked out like a bitch by a smaller man. A WW stealing a 185'ers belt like candy from a baby. Stole any legitimacy from Bisping being a real champion in his division.

And if Gastelum pops Bisping with one good shot, as Bisping has shown he is wholly susceptible to, it will be an absolutely humiliating loss.... as Bisping will get Ko'd by a fat, lazy WW'er who doesn't have the discipline to fight in his own real division.

Realistically, the only legit outcome for Bisping here has to be a finish of Gastelum inside the distance.

The only time Gastelum did not make it to the end of a pro fight was against Weidman, and that's b/c Weidman is a legit MW. If you look at that fight you can see why they have weight classes. Gastelum was in the wrong rodeo and he lost basically b/c he was the smaller man. If Gastelum was the same size as Weidman, then Gastelum would've destroyed Weidman.

Bisping has only finished 2 out of his last 13 fights. And, as much as a fan I was of Bisping, his win over Rockhold was a fluke.

I hate to say it, but I think Bisping will get rocked and dropped by Gastelum. If he survives the blows, then it could go the distance. For some reason I can see this go the distance -- I don't see Bisping stopping Gastelum in any way -- and then they raise Gastelum's hand in victory... and then you see Bisping both disgusted and dejected after the fight.

Then Bisping will have two back-to-back losses to WW's.... and it would to solidify his legacy as a joke, tbh. Thus he needs a finish here. Not some bullshit points win. He needs a legit win.

His loss to Weidman was all about grappling and being the smaller man. He doesn't have to worry about that against Bisping. Bisping doesn't really have to worry as much about wrestling as he did with GSP....though Gastelum is solid in that area. So, ZBisping should come forward and it should be striking. I think Gastelum wins. Bisping isn't deserving of a title shot with a win here. Don't think the UFC would even give him that benefit. They already did him a favor with that ridiculous Hendo fight. He need 3 decent wns at least in my opinion. Look at the guys who are in line aheas of him. Rockhold.....Romero....Whitaker gets next shot.

Well, I sort of disagree. The UFC is now a whore operation. Nothing wrong with that, it's just the way it is. In the NFL you earn your position in the playoffs and they go at it. With the UFC, well, it'd be like the 3-13 Browns getting a shot at the playoffs b/c they somehow have a huge media draw... so let's put the Browns in the playoffs.

I would somewhat agree with you that Bisping wouldn't get a title shot after a Gastelum win, but look at the money. Bisping says his next fight will be at the O2 in London. Now, who is the biggest draw in London maybe aside from McGregor? That would be Bisping. Bisping makes that card an instant success for the promoters. And if it's Bisping's last fight.... they add in the fact that it's a title shot to sell more tickets.

GSP -- out of the division
Whitaker -- can he fight in March vs. Bisping?

Rockhold -- interim title fight w/ Bisping if GSP out (huge fight)
Romero -- huge matchup and interim bout (if GSP out)

Weidman -- recent 3 losses, so throw him out of the picture
Brunson -- outsider, not big enough draw, out of the picture

I think it makes it sense. Bisping vs Whitaker for the title. Or Bisping vs. Rockhold/Romero for interim. Only stipulation is that GSP is out of the division. If that happens, I think it'd be greater than 50-50.

Let me know where I'm wrong. I probably missed something.

But think of Bisping vs. Whitaker/Rockhold/Romero in a exit/title fight at the O2. It would be one of the top 3 fights of the year and huge. Also, given the whore operation nature of the UFC now, it makes sense. Besides, Bisping is ranked #2 and they threw Henderson in at #15 or whatever.... so I think there's a shot.
