Lindsey Graham warns Roy Moore against staying in the race: 'This will not end well'

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., warned Monday that Roy Moore’s bid for the U.S. Senate “will not end well” for the conservative judge if he remains in the race, after a new woman came forward Monday and accused Moore of sexually assaulting her when she was 16 years old.
“In light of the most recent allegations and the cumulative effect of others, I believe #RoyMoore would be doing himself, the state, the GOP, and the country a service by stepping aside,” Graham tweeted Monday. “If he continues this will not end well for Mr. Moore.”
Beverly Young Nelson said Monday that Moore groped her and “began squeezing my neck to force my head onto his crotch” during an encounter in 1975 when she was 16 years old.
Nelson is the fifth woman to come forward with allegations against Moore. Last week, four others said Moore pursued sexual and romantic relations with them when they were between the ages of 14 and 18.
The conservative judge allegedly initiated sexual contact with one woman when she was 14, and took three others out on dates when they were between the ages of 16 and 18. Moore was in his 30s at the time.
Several Republicans have withdrawn their endorsements of Moore in the wake of the allegations against him, most recently Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas. Others have called for Moore to exit the Senate race.
Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Moore should be expelled from the Senate if he wins next month’s election against Democrat Doug Jones.
Several Republicans have withdrawn their endorsements of Moore in the wake of the allegations against him.
