I do not like my totals very much tonight at all. I do like my top 5 sides, which means I will probably go 1-4. The Clippers are a strong chart-play after their NC6 was snapped last night with their Cover at Cleveland. However, Charlotte is a strong home team at 4-2 SU & ATS. Clips have lost 7 straight while the Hornets have lost 6 straight, so it’s pick your poison. I want to bet the Clips in the worst way, but am going to stick with one play and am hoping that the Blazers play is stronger than the Clippers play.

Portland Trail Blazers -11.5, laying $110 to win $100 – This is basic Handicapping 101 here. The “Short revenge angle” has done well this year thus far (knock on wood). Look at the Heat last night defeating the Wizards at DC after losing to them two days earlier in Miami. A lot of these plays have come in this year to this point (knock on wood again). Obviously, giving 11.5 points sucks eggs and with e being mostly a Dog player in the NBA, I cannot stand giving double-digit points in any NBA game. However, I am playing the trend, not the line. I have to mentally remove myself from that spread and ignore it while betting the Blazers here.

Portland stunk it up last night at Sacramento. However, I watched a lot of that game and it was more Sacramento playing well than Portland playing badly. Damian Lillard shot poorly from the field, going 9-for-25 for the game. The Blazers shot 37% as a team. Willie Cauley-Stein played out of this world in his 31 minutes off the bench, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 boards. More importantly, four of those 10 rebounds were offensive rebounds, and important ones with the game on the line in the fourth quarter. The Kings bench outscored their starters 46-to-40 and was the difference in the game. For Portland, outside of Lillard scoring 29 points and CJ McCollum adding 19 points, nobody else scored more than 7 points for Portland. The Sacramento crowd was into the game and the Kings pulled off an emotional upset win on Friday. I expect the Blazers to bounce back in front of their home crowd and avenge their loss to the Kings, who are in a let-down spot after a big win.

Good Luck.
