A first-round pick of the New England Patriots in 1996 out of Ohio State University, Glenn played in intricate role in helping the Patriots win the AFC Championship in 1996, New England's first conference title under current owner Robert Kraft.
A pro bowl wideout, he'd spend six seasons with the club before landing with the Dallas Cowboys by way of the Green Bay Packers. He was integral to the early success of then quarterback Tony Romo, and further established himself as one of the most underrated players in the NFL.

wow...I just passed that exact location like I do everyday to work. It was already cleaned up and no delays. Must have been super early AM as there was no backup at all.

Wow....sad

He had his off the field issues, not uncommon in the NFL, but to go from walk on at Ohio state to first team All-American was pretty impressive.
He also caught TB12's first TD pass.

I still remember Parcells referring him to "she". His knee was always an issue.

It seemed like he really got his personal life together.....RIP.

Sometimes I hate the fucking press. Look at these douchebags interviewing the guy like he's wanted for murder, like it's some kind of interrogation.

He handled it professionally, but those reporters are some of the worst I've ever seen. Pure trash.

let's be real. It's not about hard work and dedication with these guys. Half of them can't keep themselves out of trouble when they've got 24-hour handlers to keep them in check so they can get those big checks down the road.

It's like you saying, "Lebron bulit himself up from nothing". 90% of these guys were born studs and the coaches, schools, leagues bend over backwards for them so they can be successful.

It's not some Horatio Alger story. It's a dude who was born with the ability to run the 40 in about 3 seconds and that's about it. And they're so self-destructive they do all kinds of crazy shit.

I think you are looking at it incorrectly. It's much easier to "make it" in sports dominated by athletic ability when you DO come from the gutter. In all sports that don't require a lot of money to play, the best players usually do come from the "gutter" Thats the case in almost all countries in all sports since forever. Him being from the gutter is more then norm then the exception. Take for example the Dominican and baseball players, super poor yet they produce a ton of major leaguers.

Now if he went from the gutter to running a fortune 500 company that would be impressive. Most of those guys are born with silver spoons in the mouth.
