You know who I'll be on in that one, lol. I think they got it right, Bama "travels" well, Buckey got their asses handed to them in Iowa. I couldn't believe ESPN had USC in the mix on their show, how would that happen, LOL.

Yah, I think they shouldn't have conference championship games to see who goes into the final 4 spots. They should change it from 4 teams to 16 teams, so teams like Central Florida could be in it. Replace the conf champ games with a 16 team playoff.

No. Conference games are all just part of the puzzle. It is no less ridiculous than picking Ohio St over Alabama with two losses. Nothing will ever be perfect anyway. Someone will always complain

Ohio State and Bama not in the same conference, or the CC would matter. Alabama with 1 loss deserves to go while Ohio State with 2 does not. SOS almost the same, although SEC is almost always the tougher conference due to the bottom feeders in the Big 10.

I think Ohio st winning the conf champ game, and still not getting into the playoffs is an indication that there shouldn't be conf champ games. An idea is to just take the winner of the conference during the regular season, and if there's two teams who has equal records, take the one who won in a head to head game, or if they didn't face each other, then go by who had the bigger margin of victory with whoever common teams they've played or whoever lost to the stronger team during the season if they had any losses.

...or take 5 conf champs and have 3 at-large bids (kinda like wildcard to make an 8 team playoff...because is there really anybody past the top 8 that is good enough to make playoff run? (Be honest)

My take is conference championship games are special...especially for the players and fans who support them.
For example:

Central Florida won the American Athletic Conference. (0-12 two seasons ago)
Florida Atlantic won the C-USA title. (undefeated in conference play after 3 straight 3-8 seasons)

Everything shouldn't be about who gets into the final four for the NC.

Just starting a conversation on a sports sight. No need to get nasty. Not from the same conf anyway Buster.

Bama rewarded for not playing in their conf championship. If they would have played in the game they might have lost. That's all I'm saying. And yes Penn St got screwed last year imho.

And I do think Bama is the best team in the country. I've said that in threads before.

The way the system is now you can only be a national champion if you play in one of the major conferences.
At least basketball smaller mid majors stand a chance. Winning your conference tournament is an auto.
