LaVar Ball is taking the reins on his suspended son’s basketball future.
Ball is pulling LiAngelo Ball out of UCLA and off its basketball team, TMZ reported Monday, as the freshman continues to serve an indefinite suspension for a shoplifting arrest in China last month.
The younger Ball and the two freshman teammates with whom he was caught stealing Louis Vuitton sunglasses, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, missed their eighth game Sunday, the Bruins’ 106-73 win over the University of Detroit Mercy. UCLA is 7-1 without the three players, although the team has fallen out of the Top 25 before conference play begins.
LaVar Ball reportedly considered LiAngelo’s suspension unfair after the charges against him and the others were dropped. The detained players were allowed to return home after President Donald Trump said he spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping and secured their release — though the elder Ball publicly disputed Trump’s involvement.
“We are exploring other options with Gelo,” LaVar told ESPN.com. “He’s out of there.”
The decision puts a wrench in LaVar Ball’s plan to put each of his three sons through one year at UCLA before they become eligible for the NBA draft. Lonzo Ball was selected No. 2 overall by the Lakers this year after leading the Bruins to the Sweet 16.
Ball set a precedent when he pulled his youngest son, LaMelo, out of Chino Hills High School in October over frustration with the head basketball coach. LaMelo already is a 2019 UCLA commit, though that plan could now change.

I'm with him on this, 7 games is steep for the crime they committed

I think they've learned their lesson already

I'd be happy if I never had to read another headline about any of the ass-clowns in that family.

His son isn't any good so who really cares. But he should've just let him take the heat.

3 games, 5 games, 7 games. It's not going to make much of a difference in his life. But his son should know that there are consequences to your actions and sometimes those consequences are greater than what you think they should be.

Led the entire state of California with 33.8 ppg. Without lonzo last year.

Tough to say he isn't any good.

Best scorer of the 3 by far. Kid can hoop.

My guess is when the suspension ended, he knew he wasn't gonna get much run and his son probably wasn't enjoying his newfound infamy. Doubt it was just angry at the heavy handed punishment.

And he scored 34ppg in the CA suburbs. He was a 3 star prospect. He's not as good as the other two. If his last wasn't Ball, he wouldn't be balling at UCLA.

Draymond green, steph curry also were 3 stars.

He needs to shed a little weight to get quicker. Hopefully this all motivates him.

If LaVar/his son thought he was remotely on any type of Steph Curry trajectory then he would've taken the suspension and gone on to perform at UCLA. There isn't going to be a stage that raises his profile more than playing well for UCLA.

No other school on that level is going to touch him now. They would have to be idiots to leave UCLA over a little suspension if they thought what you thought.

Sorry, but so many naive people in this thread. A Swiss bank has contacted Father Ball in an effort to recruit his son to join in some bank heists in Europe.

Father Ball said to the offer, "My son don't steal sheet!"

The bankers said, "We'll pay you 2.5 million and sign you up for some English classes."

Son Ball is currently excited with the opportunity to steal more shit. Plus, he's excited he won't have to attend his full load of UCLA courses:

1. Recreational Badminton for Ballers Straight out of Compton - 101
2. Philosophy of Basketball as a non-binary Transgender Experience in the Diaspora - 101
3. How the Police keep my people down by imprisoning me if I steal shit -- 101

Draymond was a 2nd rder. Flew under the radar. This kid is flying under the radar. Not saying he is either of them or will be. But the projection process not always accurate. Plus there is plenty of time for developing. And he is the best scorer of them by far

Sports is the biggest meritocracy we have in society, for the most part the cream rises to the top eventually. Unless you're a QB and get drafted by the Browns.

So we'll see. But I think it is pretty obvious he does not have the foot speed to be an NBA wing.

Couple posts up you said he was the best scorer of the 3 BY FAR.

Lol, that's female-level shit right there.

Woman: I'll do that in a minute.

A few minutes pass.

Man: Well? Are you going to do it?

Woman: I never said I'd do that. (And said with a straight face)
