I have always looked forward to watching this game regardless of each team's record. This
year both Army (8-3) and Navy (6-5) have winning records and each will play in a bowl game.
Anyone expecting a passing fest will be disappointed as Army ranks dead last with just 30 ypg
and Navy a tad better with 91 ypg. Where both teams excel is running the ball. Army ranks #1 in
the nation with Navy right behind at #2. Both teams combine for a game average of 715 ypg.
Field goals will probably be at a premium as Army has made just 3 of 7 and Navy 8 of 14 on
the season.

The big difference I see in each team is the schedule they played. Navy's opponents were 84-56
while Army's was 55-76. In my opinion, Navy played a much more difficult schedule including
Central Florida (12-0), Memphis (10-2), Florida Atlantic (10-3), and Notre Dame (9-3). Army's
schedule had only two teams with a winning record (Ohio State 11-2) and North Texas 9-4). For
that reason, I like Navy to win and cover the game. I also think the Under should be given strong
consideration with what amounts to a running clock.

of all the sporting events i have been to this one is by far the most fun. great tailgates with mutual respect for each side. great traditions and pregame flyovers, truly an event each sports fan should attend. ill be rooting for army even though im originally from Annapolis md. my cousin is a west point grad and i would like to see the commander and chiefs trophy go to the cadets for the first time since 1996.

id say under on the game though. both teams will probably go for it on fourth and short but both teams should know each others offense by now and prevent the big plays in the run game. the clock should run most of the game and i can see it being low scoring.

Navy for a while dominated this series. Last year though....Army won. Their numbers are pretty equal. But...as you said that can be misleading because of a bit tougher schedule. Don't have a big opinion on this play. Seeing as it is close....I'll take the points

Yeah #17, both teams stats are pretty equal. That's why I went to the schedule.

Army's schedule with opponents won/loss record.

Fordham (4-7), Buffalo (6-6), Ohio State (11-2), Tulane (5-7), UTEP (0-12, Rice (1-11),
Eastern Michigan (5-7), Temple (5-7), SMU (7-5), Air Force (5-7), Duke (6-6), N. Texas (9-4)

Navy's schedule with records.

FAU (10-3), Tulane 5-7), Cincinnati (4-8), Tulsa (2-10), Air Force (5-7), Memphis (10-2),
Central Florida (12-0), Temple (5-7), SMU (7-5, Notre Dame (9-3), Houston (7-4)

Common opponents where Air Force, Tulane and Temple.

Forget the schedules played, forget the records, these games are for military bragging rights, and it don't matter who has the better record.I'm not sure when it was,but i believe one of them had a 1-9 record and won the game.I just wish i checked where they were playing this game, cause i would have gone to philly in a heartbeat ......Navy is 10-0 when playing at Lincoln Financial Field

Some interesting UNDER trends.

Army
21-5 last 26 games following a bye week
13-3 last 16 games in December
15-3 last 18 games at a neutral site

Navy
12-1 last 13 games at neutral site as a favorite
13-3 last 16 games in December
16-7 last 23 games following a SU loss

I'm playing the under but wouldn't be surprised if it goes over.

Sagarin SOS:

Navy 66
Army 100

It matters. An allowance horse vs a claimer.

Suppose to snow/ice in Philly during afternoon. Not a lot maybe an inch or so but could have an impact on field conditions.

What a game....and in cold weather with snow. God what a stage for our military.

I had Navy and under but after the third quarter I didn't care who won.

Love these kids and the performance they showed the nation.
