Doing this for the first time, my dog is too old to take into the groomer now. It's one of those deals where they come by with a truck and do it all in your driveway.

I'm generally a good tipper, but I'm one of those guys who thinks we have gone overboard as a society with it.

It's $69 for the groom. Give the guy $80 and call it a day?

Well...15% is the norm so that is about right. Anything other than that is optional. So, after if you feel you got something exceptional you can then give more. $70 sems like alot for that anyway if you ask me

That's a good price for somebody coming to you. My wife pays 75 and that's taking the dog to the groomer.

80 sounds like a good plan to me.

I have no idea about mobile... but regular dog groomers definitely need to be tipped. normally min wage workers doing a skill job, much like those cutting hair. I tip 15-20% on my pet groomer because it takes 2+ hours. I would say that range would be the same for a mobile groomer too given the upcharge already seems to be included.... I think youre in the ball park and $80 seems a-okay.

Agree. This is for bath, haircut, and nail trim on a 40 pound arthritic dog. A complete steal, less than I normally pay taking her in somewhere.

It must vary by region, cause you couldn't get them to spray your dog with a hose for 40 bucks anywhere I've ever lived.

This guy is not a minimum wage worker, he is a small business owner. He is getting $70 for 1.5 hours of work. Now I have to tip on top of that for someone doing their job, just because it is a service?

The only reason I'm leaning tip is because my dog is a little more challenging than your average groom, due to the arthritis.

But at the same time, I talked to this guy this morning and he said this is the vast majority of his clients. People with normal dogs are taking them into standard groomers.

You don't know if he's the owner or not? Doesn't matter. He's coming to you shouldn't change the fact that you tip. Dog groomers are in the yes column of do you always tip.

biggest tipping scam to me? the guy in front of the casino that waives the next taxi down from the line. he's suppose to get a $1 per for that? I can wave too.

I always always always tip for a haircut too. I'm going to stop doing that shit. Fuck that.

Price your haircut to cover your expenses and profits you wanna make, and I'll decide if I want to pay it.

I think the only people that should be tipped are servers and bartenders, and I'd even like to see that whole structure change. The income disparity between BOH and FOH in the restaurant industry is a complete joke.
