with 1 second to go I was looking at 0-13......the lateral.... picked and returned for a TD with no time broke the 0-fer streak..... "Lightening Struck"...no other way to describe it

The problem is that they try this when they are deep in their own territory, too far away for a Hail Mary and then because of the need for the lateral to go backward, keep getting closer th their own end zone. If they were smarter, the would mak the first pass about a forty yarder and run a play like KC ran right before the half against Dallas, sort of an extended downfield screen pass, then lateral to a trailer if necessary. Much better odds of success, both for the offense and for the gamblers that just want the game to end.

It's literally the ugliest play in football and it's a circus ending to an otherwise hard fought game. Not to mention it also seems like a prime opportunity for a blind side hit that could end in injury.
