Huego, I know Garapolo has risen the 49ers from ashes, but what's your angle on this game, I can't figure it out. Titans are fighting for division title, & they play Jags week 17.......Jags already a game up on Titans, & might be 2 games up after this week if Titans lose.

Garappolo has made a huge impact on not only the offense, but the entire organization's/fanbase/players hope for the future. This is the first time they have a legit QB in the last 5 seasons. We could argue, actually since Jeff Garcia, a 49ers QB that can throw the ball downfield with accuracy (10+ years). Sunday will be the first game he's starting at home, no doubt the crowd will be into it.

In this particular matchup, IMO the 49ers have the edge in the following areas:
  1. Better QB play
  2. Better coaching
  3. Homefield advantage with crowd excited as its Garappolo's first game starting
  4. The 49ers strength on defense is against the running game. Matches up well vs Titans

Points 1 and 2 are the most important to me. And there's no doubt in my mind they have the edge in both these areas.

I think the line here should be 49ers -3. I was hoping the Titans would have won last week, as it would of made this play here on the 49ers a 5 unit wager for me. But to your point, the Titans need a win badly here. So they should play with lots of effort. Also this is the 49ers first time being favored this year, how does the young roster handle being the favorite? This is a good question ... we will find out on Sunday.

Garapolo made a huge difference on the 49ers & their psyche, but I just can't see Titans losing this game, but anything is possible, good luck either way!

+1, yes... great stat showing 3 win teams favored over teams with a winning record.. (later in the season) covering at a 65%+ clip... doesnt happen often but when it does, it has been money..

You've convinced me not to play the Titans, so I'm staying away from this game, good luck!
