We all know about Jim Mora being fired. Chip Kelly is taking over but will not be coaching UCLA in their bowl game so interim coach Fitch (however you spell his name) will be running the show. Now QB Rosen will be sitting out this game due to a concussion. While UCLA was the top team offensively, they rank near the bottom in rushing. With Rosen out, how are they going to generate points? They also rank near the bottom defensively so it’s not a good situation for them right now.
Here comes Kansas State having dealt with numerous top offenses in their conference. Their stats arent very good but they should be prepared to handle anything UCLA can throw at them offensively. They also bring a bit of an unknown offensively for UCLA to prepare for. Their new QB who took over late in the season can make plays with his feet but also has a decent arm. He’s young but appears to have a bright future. Given Kansas states ability to run the ball, UCLAs defense could be in for a long day.
Then there are rumors that this may be Bill Snyder‘s final game. What better way to get the team fired up for a solid performance than to announce your retirement before kickoff.
