This is not based on Massey Ratings but year long defensive stats and anti-offensive stats

Teams with the best scoring defense is 15-2 so far in the bowl games
So today...
Florida State -14.5
Iowa - 2.5
Texas + 3
Purdue + 3

Teams with the best scoring offense is 3-14 so far in the bowl games "Fade these"
Southern Miss
Iowa
Missouri
Arizona

Iowa is a ? due to fitting both scenarios so I would stay away from them using this data. Bowl games are always a toss up because you never know who is there to play and who is there going through the motions. Defense always year after year wins so this is no surprise!

Just some thoughts to ponder...

Also interesting is that teams who average both higher numbers a game in rushing yards a game and give up less rushing yards a game on defense are 5-1 ATS. The only loss FIU. And there was an injury to the QB in that game. I believe if not it would be 6-0 But obviously cant say for sure

So MIss would apply

If Fla State comes to play it is a massacre, though we know they might not with the interim coach and all of that they might be a clusterschtook, and don't tell me "the players want to win it for him"

FSU couldn’t be coached when they had a coach. How much practice you think they’ve done with an interim coach and playing a team they could care less about? Might just lay off but no way i trust fsu laying dd today.

Also.....evolution of a team. You can have a team who has all around average numbers. But.....it could be bad first half of the season and good second half making it average. But....in reality they are closer to a good team than average because they evolved

S Miss #50, Fla St #78
Iowa #66, Boston College #82
Purdue #97, Arizona #6
Texas #58, Mizzou #9

Texas and Purdue do not have better scoring offenses than their opponents today...
