I hope not; It would be great if we could keep politics and its accompanying dirt out of sports, our last clean refuge.

Lets look at the current (AP) top 10 rankings and the states the schools are located in and how they match-up with the last election.

1. Clemson (South Caroline), Won by Trump
2. Oklahoma, Won by Trump
3. Georgia Won by Trump
4 Alabama, Won by Trump
5. Ohio State (Ohio) Won by Trump
6. Wisconsin, Won by Trump
7. Auburn (Alabama), Won by Trump
8. USC (California), Won by Clinton
9. Penn State (Pennsylvania) Won by Trump
10. UCF (Florida) Won by Trump.

It looks like Trump beat Clinton (handily) in the states aligned with he current top 10 schools. ......Gulp.
It would be an interesting stat as to how this year compares to, say, the past 40 years..

It crept into the pros already. 9/11/2001 and a team named the “patriots” won the sb that year.

Looks like it crept in to keep big 10 out as they have a pretty good bowl record so far.
