I grew-up with the Wisconsin Badgers a long time ago but had to convert over to the Gators when my Son played there during the late 70's and early 80's.
The ball he played with was "round" (not baseball) and the coach at Alabama was C.M. Newton. Florida was never SEC champs during his playing days but those were thrilling times for me seeing him play at that level.
Clover; By now you know, I never post selections here on the Rx College Forum; I leave that up to the younger guys that have a better handle on college football today (21st century x's and o's). But, since you have been one of the major contributors to this forum who's opinions I hold in high regard, here goes:
I am going to place a small wager on the Alabama Crimson Tide and lay the 4 points, the number my "local" has it at. This is going to be a great college football game, these two teams have survived the rigors and pains of a long 14 game season (ouch) and there will be no need for pre-game locker-room pep talks by the coaches.......the adrenaline will be flowing at a high level.
Can Georgia win this game ? Hell yes , they are a well-coached team that just came off a big win against a very good Oklahoma team led by a Heisman QB.
(We all know that game could have gone either way). Their RB's have the potential to break a game wide open on any given play. Here's where Saban and his defensive staff comes in: They have been viewing the videos night and day resulting in the game becoming a defensive battle of attrition (low scoring).
I could easily see a 24-17 final.
Many years ago, an old-time sports bettor told me to NEVER use lasts weeks performances as your main criteria when handicapping a football game; It still makes sense today. Good luck.
