I have never really learned to handicap football, or any other sport for that matter. And, I haven't had the discretionary income to wager on any games in several years. When I was able to, I frequented this site as well as a couple of others. As you can tell, I have been a longtime lurker here.
This year was my third year to join in a league of Cover5 (picking 5 games against the spread but where points matter). After a not too stellar start, about week 10 I started to make a move up from about 20th (out of 67). Week 14 I even had the weekly high score. Going into this week, I was solidly in 2nd place and only 20 pts out of first. After agonizing yesterday over picks, and thanks to not too many garbage points being scored, I landed in first by 4 points. A HUGE win in my opinion to the tune of $800.
I thank this site for that and wanted to thank everyone and a few specifically. (I may miss a few names and for that I apologize).
I admit that every week I look forward to posts by (in no specific order): Brooklynworm, Chonce, TheComputerGroup, Bookie Report, Thegame9000, Wormy Pix, Gravy, Tmader7, Old Man Ted, Barnzy, Bagiant, QueenofHearts, and Hache Man. Again this is not an all encompassing list, (and I stopped at 13 due to my own superstitions).
