no excuses, but they are different games. kirby smart a better coach then gus. also think playing for frost this ucf team had its eye on the prize and remained focused.

SEC teams get all that untrue "greatest conference" BS pumped up their asses all the time so if they don't play for a national title, they believe all other bowls are beneath them. First, they aren't that good; second, they don't give a shit. Besides Alabama, the other teams are no better than any other conference.

Auburn lost their conf championship game, UCF won. That is always huge, one team is going to a lesser bowl than they had hoped, the other is going to their dream bowl.

Auburn had their sights on national championship, played Clemson, LSU, Bama, and GA already, UCF was not a team to get jacked up for...

UCF won their championship, undefeated, getting 12 with a good O, and they were jacked up to play a big name SEC team.

Many thought Auburn would play hard, with deeper talent, and/or maybe UCF would choke, but you could see early UCF was prepared and Auburn was lethargic.
