What's the statement?
Here's the queston: Who's stupider Payton for going for it on 4th down or Adams for intercepting it 16 yards down field?

the analytics sites were 100% in favor of going for it on 4th down

Good move to go for it. Good defense by the Panthers. Ends it not meaning much given that the Panthers picked off the pass and get worse field position. But I respect and agree with the aggressive move.

And finally, the reason you know this is the right move: Panthers fans want to see the Saints punt here.

Getting from the 20 to midfield isn't that hard; it's getting from midfield to the end zone. But more importantly, you have the whole field to work with and need 2 yards to ice the game. Risk/reward is clear.

Saints should go for this. Best offense in the league, 4th-and-2 at midfield, NO will convert more often than not.And since CAR needs a TD, you're only giving up about 25 yards of easy to protect field position.

OK so the answer is Adams for intercepting 16 yards downfield.

You can put out all the analytics but the fact is with Carolina on the 5 (where they would have been with those lost 16 yards) with 46 secs the Saints are on the ropes holding on for dear life.
As for punting a good punt out of bounds inside the 10 isn't hard to do then time is the factor. Don't tell me they get to the 50 easily and even if they do that's lost time. Remember no time outs.
Lastly if that's the right thing to do how come you never see teams go for it at that point in the game under those conditions .... oh yeah one team did .... Patriots right before they lost a few years back.
