Vikes open as a 4 point Favorite

Rematch from week 1, who thought both of these teams would be squaring off in Divisional Playoff round? Both teams have their work cut out for them as the Saints lost to the Buccaneers and the Vikings are hosting the Super Bowl which are HUGE strikes against them. Just kidding if you have followed another thread, you know where I am going with this. Ok lets break this down

When the Saints have the ball.. They will be forced to pick on CB Trae Waynes, Rhodes will cover Thomas and since the Vikes play man to man you won't be seeing Thomas running across the field wide open like today. Kamara will be shadowed out of the backfield by Anthony Barr, so the Saints will have to run the ball effectively and pass to options outside of Thomas and Kamara for the most part. Big advantage for the Vikings and then they can effectively blitz Kendricks if they want to, or roll Sandejo and Harrison Smith wherever they like. Vikings also know Brees will not kill them with his legs and will be after him a lot as I expect the Saints to be passing. All this theory goes out the window if Saints establish a running game early but Vikes very stingy against the runs with a mental lapse from time to time.

When the Vikings have the ball, they will have to rely on the running game early to set up play action. Saints play a little of everything and from what I see the Saints blitz often. Vikes are really good at blitz pickup and Keenum was or is the #1 rated passer vs the Blitz. Do the Saints realize this and play coverage? ( What I would do.) The big question is Keenum, no playoff experience and he has looked less than spectacular of late but they aren't asking him to be..

Conclusion - I am going with the Vikings, I think their defense is much better than what the Saints can handle.. They held them to 19 week 1 and 7 of those points came in garbage time and another 3 were form bogus penalty. I know its been 4 months but the matchups are just in the Vikes favor.. Vikes offense will do enough provided Keenum doesn't implode and the Vikes O - Line has been very very good and now they are healthy.. Hope the Vikes aren't flat after the rest.. Oh also don't forget US BANK Stadium is a HUGE ADVANTAGE

VIKES 27 Saints 17

I am expecting this line to get below 4, public money will come in on the Saints...

I thought they would play each other in the playoffs 3 weeks ago......I bet Saints +3 at Minny week 1, & Saints would have won the game if Payton wouldn't have called the most stupid offensive plays inside the 10 yard line 4 times.....Saints had to settle for 4 fgs.

This line is Vikings -3.5 that I see........IMO, Vikings win by 10 on my first instinct looking at this line & game.

The Panthers defense aren't the Vikings defense, Bree's will see a lot of pressure.

Also, this is the last game next week, its the Fox GOW & will come down to the wire possible like the Saints/Panthers game.

So Vikings by 6-10 points I could see.....but will still look into this game, good luck!

IMO, who ever wins this game will win the super bowl.

Saints I'm leaning. NFC south have dominated the NFL/NFC the last 3 years. Thinking maybe ATL can do it too and we have a 3rd straight year with a guaranteed NFC south team representing the SB. That's fucking impressive.

You really think Case Keenum wins the Super Bowl? Saints weren't the team they are today in week 1.

It will be a tight game and unless Brees throws picks I think it will be Atlanta /saints NFC game.

Thinking it's possible. But if that matchup were to happen I would be all in on ATL honestly. Just based off historically in that spot and the given situations.

speaking of the minn stadium- indoors or outdoors

U.S. Bank Stadium was designed using an acoustically more reflective material than the old Metrodome, ETFE, which creates a very loud environment. It is already known as one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. Registered Decibel Levels: 114 - Vikings vs. Chargers, (Aug. 28, 2016)

vikings defense is the best in the NFL.

a huge Viking advantage is coaching. Payton nearly coached them out of even playing in this game. Bonehead call going for it on fourth down at the end of the game. Biggest worry for vikes is if Bree's gets hot.

vikings is a tough matchup
dome helps the saints though as they would have played a lot worse if it were outside

1st time playoff for Case K vs. Drew Brees? We all know by now playoffs is not same as reg. Different intensity and pressure.
The best defense can be broken down...ask Brady. Brees is not TB but he's damn close or can be occasionally.
I picked Car losing in a close game today and I see NO winning on last drive next week.
NFL needs a Brees vs Brady Superbowl which has never happened

This is a joke right? Vikes were up 17 with 4 minutes left and gave tge Saints a gimme at the end plus drive kept alive by bogus roughing call. Vikes had 470 yards to 350 and 70 on final drive. Vikes had 470 to 280 edge so there was no way the Saints were winnning

Neither are the Vikes. Vikes D stingy and as mentioned matched up well. Saints D not as good as advertised. Kapernick beat Rodgers

Falcons may beat Philly but give them little chance to win on road vs either Vikes or Saints

The best defenses can be broken down? How are they going to break them down? Thomas or Kamara or Ingram. They will need a running game cause Brees will have consistent pressure in his face

as mentioned before Kap beat Rodgers because of his supporting cast. vikes cast much better than saints

Its a classic because this is the moment the saints have built for. They traded away jimmy graham so they could win these games on the road. Because they knew at home they can win scheme up like 5 different ways to beat you. On the road it's a power run game 1-2 punch. Which makes this game intriguing because Kamara and the saints speed vs vikings defensive speed. I think Kamara is going to have a very good game vs Minnesota.

The 3.5 seems a bit generous for the better qb and offense. Michael thomas is a star in the making though. My gut is pointing to Vikings because it makes sense with everything else. But we'll see.

Lots of great info from you guys. Thanks.

First glance I like minny. They, just like Pats are ats. If Vikings get out to an early lead the crowd will be deafening. The way the Saints played in 2h will get them blown out. The Vikings defense is insane.
