The Westgate Superbook has listed Alabama as the favorite to win the 2019 national
title. Bama opened at 3-1 followed by Georgia 9-2, Clemson 6-1, Ohio State 8-1, Michigan
10-1, Penn State 12-1.

Texas, Wisconsin, Auburn and Miami all were listed at 25-1 and Oklahoma, LSU, Washington
and Michigan State opened at 30-1.

New coaches Scott Frost (Nebraska) and Chip Kelly (UCLA) came in at 100-1.

If Shea Patterson can be eligible to play next season, Michigan has a legit shot to go the distance as the defense is good enough & he would be the best QB Jim has had since arriving in Ann Arbor.

I agree with Bama. They are an auto to get in the final 4. They don't even have to win their conf championship game, or should I say play in it.

Alabama was the best team. I hate to admit it, but they are one solid program!

GA and Clemson should be favored over Bama going into next year.. not complaining though, that's the reason I'm getting 8/1 with both. that's a steal

Clemson has a very favorable schedule and should run the table during the regular
season. No short weeks with Thursday or Friday games. No back-to-back road games.
The schedule alternates home and away the first eleven games of the season.

Georgia loses 29 seniors with half of them being starters. The Dawgs will not have 18
starters returning like last season. The defense (10 starters 2017) is being rebuilt. The
offense loses their two stud running backs. Georgia will need a leadership reboot to say
the least.

Alabama has the talent and experience to repeat. The approach will be the same as the
past ten years (5 NC).

UGA will be special on O. The D will lack with experience. The experience factor will be expedited with the 4 & 5* talent.

Georgia will be good...but not as good as 2017 in my humble opinion.

Trust you Al but I just can't see the offense being special. Kirby, like his mentor Saban
believes in the running game. Who?

Dawgs lose a ton on defense especially at LB. All must be replaced including the best defensive
player in the SEC. Again, I ask Who?

I also might ask who in the SEC East is better than your Dawgs. Probably noone?

3/1 is pretty insane considering new people calling both offensive and defensive plays, a very young secondary, and losing their best playmaker

schedule is friendly though and will be favored in all 12 games

Kirby working under Saban def has paid off. The main thing is the tricks and watching the best on the recruiting trail.

The difference I see with Kirby is a more willingly thought to throw the ball. The 18 and 19 classes are loaded with talent. You have 2 5* QBs on the roster that can flat out play. The OL will be like what Bama has in 2 years.....solid 5* across the front. Big time players at RB and the 19 class has the top 2 WRs committed to UGA. It just seems to be setting up for a super explosive O.

Albatross, this post was back in January. What do you think my friend. Was/Am I way off
about the Dawgs?
