I have a lot of autograph items that i am looking to sell, but with sports shows just about extinct anymore, there is nowhere to look to get rid of them.I have no reason to hold onto them, as all the grand kids are all grown up now, and could careless about them,so i'm just looking to see if anyone is interested in this kind of stuff. So if you are just let me know and we can discuss it.

If you want, PM me your cell # and I'll have him call you

PS: No, I know nothing about that stuff or what it's worth

I worked in the business for a couple years, and really began collecting seriously then... now the stuff is hard to move key. set low expectations on price.

i had over 15k worth of stuff at fair value, I been selling it here and there when I can... will probably get around 40-50% of that when all said and done. some were just bad buys on my behalf but others were not but still hard to move.

Muhammad Ali, Larry Bird, MJ, Dr J, Ted Williams were my bigger pieces.

Still have the Muhammad Ali, I should try to move that.

Anyways, your authentications are everything. If you don't have them on expensive pieces, you could look at PSA/DNA. Most brokers wont accept autographs that don't have one of the big name authentications.

If you have all the authentications already, find your local place and ask for a consignment deal. I usually offer them 25-35% of the sale price. Often they want more, so make sure you try to negotiate it all together as that helps. But even at 50% sometimes its a good deal.

Part of what you mentioned is why I always preferred collecting autographed inserts in card packs.

Doesn't get much more legit than that.

Unless it's that one guy who's on fire with the public at the time, everything has been going for around 50% for the last 25 years.

I don't understand why it's never turned back around for the hobby.

too many card companies , too many different cards
like you said, it's been bad for 25 years ... I think you're right. My guess is ( 20-25 years )
and besides those Inserts you are talking about, the Sports card market is saturated.

I have an autographed baseball signed by Mickey Mantle on the sweet spot.. It is very clear..However, sereral other teammates signed the ball also and I can't make them all out .. Does that devalue the ball?
Frank Crosetti and Horace Clarke are also on the ball (Official Baseball American League Joseph Cronin) Rough estimate?

Did you have the ball authenticated? If not, I would definitely have PSA/DNA or JSA authenticate it to make sure it is legit. There are a lot of fake Mantle cards and signatures out there. I have been collecting for a very long time and have seen it all. Also, if it is legit and it is authenticated, it is usually worth more.

No. I haven't had it authenticated. It was given to me about age 17 from my dad (a farmer) who got it from a New York Produce broker that sold our crops.. He had a friend with the Yankee organization. I don't want to put it in the mail as there is zero doubt it's real.. I would not mind taking it somewhere in Virginia for the proof.

I have a baseball autographed by Sandy Koufax and one signed by Don Drysdale.

I've had them for over 30 years and plan to keep both of them.

Once I'm gone, the kids can do what they want with them.

In addition to my Mantle baseball, have nearly mint condition baseball cards; Kirby Puckett and Don Mattingly. I doubt they are highly valuable.

yeah it definitely devalued by the other guys.

the quality of the signature and getting PSA/DNA is import. cost a decent chuck of change for that authentication but worth it in this case. send it in. ballpark $500
