That will determine if the Jags are still in it in the 4th quarter. The Giants are the only team to repeatedly have all the answers and Coughlin is just the man to share that secret with his defense. Personally, I think they have a shot. I could see Brady on his ass all day.

Not in my opinion, Brady has everyone back that he needs Burkhead, Lewis, White, Gronk, Amendola, Cooks, and all the rest of them! Who are they going to cover with a double team? Jags D is going backwards fast and will be gassed by the 3rd quarter, game over!

IMO they need to not only get to him but come up with at least 2 turnovers to win the game, the thing that worries me a lot are a bunch of BS pass interference calls the crowd "demands"...I think the Jags are a chance to pull the upset but like the Pit game they MUST start well, they can't have Bortles flinging it around playing catch up

Exactly......well put. Can't have Bortles going up & down the field, although he was able to do it in Pitt, they had the game in control & their defense relaxed in the 2nd half allowing Pitt to come back......I doubt the Jags do this if they take the lead.....my money will be on the Jags plus the points, & the Jags winning SU will be a bonus for a small wager.

It begs the question why the line is not double digits. It’ll be interesting to see if it approaches 7 as kickoff get closer with the majority feeling it’ll be a blowout

There is no secret. If you can get a pass rush with 4 guys and play 7 back you will own anyone. That is how the Giants beat them in the SB

The Giants were hot at the end of both of those SB seasons, but they didn't have any secret to pass rush Brady. Just good DLs that kept Brady uncomfortable. Brady is less athletic now, but a smarter QB. Look how they adjusted well just in the Titans' game. 1st qtr. was almost all Tenn, but after that, NE dominated.

Jags capitalized on a dreadful Steelers' defense. Steel Curtain is now more like the Pink Velvet Curtain. This week the Jags' offense comes back to their norm, while their defense also returns to their usual outstanding norm. The spread is about right, but I'm shading towards the Pats. Jags might have a hard time coming down from their big win vs. Pittsburgh, and Bortles I think struggles like he has in the past month or so. Could be a close game for a while, then NE pulls away 2nd half.

Going backwards fast? You're serious.

Not to mention Tennessee just wasn't that good and was going to get smoked regardless of the calls.

Tenn has a good rush defense and a poor pass defense. Not the defensive recipe for beating NE.

Jags the opposite. There is no special secrets Coughlin has for beating NE. You need a DL that can pressure the QB, which is what they have. They also need to force a few TOs.

patriots defense will be the story. they will hold jax to under 20 and the pats likely get to 28. they will create turnovers which shorten the field. jags offense looked great against the steelers but couldnt move the ball against the bills. thats the real jags offense, any real steeler fan can tell you how bad that defense was all year long. brady will get his calls as well, he is so accurate he can put the ball in places which draw contact and allow for defensive penalties. if the refs let them play then the jags have a shot but more than likely there will be critical penalties that go against the jags that keep drives going. not saying they arent earned penalties, i think brady is so accurate he can throw his reciever into drawing contact which other qbs cant.

This is why I said it is SO important for Jax to start wellso they can stick with a heavy dose of run mixed in with some shots in goodspots PLUS (and this is looming as being really important for Jax) Bortles may be able to run for 60-70 yardshimself to extend drives and keep Brady off the field.
If NE can’t get a run game going they’ll be a littleconcerned about this defense being able to tee-off at Brady, it was only a fewweeks ago the Dolphins defense pressured him into all sorts of strife—and theyaint the Jags D!

I think they set the line at -9 so the book could stop teasers.. at -7 the world would tease NE down to EV ... if they made the line over -10 the world would tease it to jags +17 1/2 or +18 .. my understanding is there has been little action so far...

I took the 10 point monster (jags + 19 1/2 over 36 1/2 and purple plus 7) ... I'm going to hedge mt bet a little with the special line .... Pats -18 when it comes out ..

and if my teaser is still alive after the pats game , ill take the ML and then play the live odds as the game goes on. I was really impressed by how purple stopped Mark Ingrim Jr.

Kamara is the next big thing and could not have been stopped by any line in the NFL.

I'll be watching the line movement up to the last second before kick off to make adjustments.

lets not forget that Miami game was on the road for the pats with Pitt on deck. Classic look ahead game. So don’t bank on that game at all to make your point. Sorry. The NFL, like all sports, is situational. This week may be too big for the youngsters on the Jags to handle. And the Pats have been there. That may play very big.

No disrespect, just my opinion.

i wouldnt put it past belichek to play that miami game with a shortened playbook. the playcalling in that game was very vanilla, all credit to miami for winning but it would be very "belichek-like" to not want a primetime nationally televised game and show all the tricks up his sleeve. they didnt lose the game on purpose, i just think he didnt want to show much and thought maybe we can just line up and play it straight up and win the game. im sure that the jags are watching that tape to see how to get to brady but i wouldnt be surprised if that plays right into the belichek plan where he already knows the tape they are watching and how to scheme against what they are going to do.....im reading too far into it probably
