What is the record/success rate of any playoff teams in which their OC or DC has taken a Head coaching job next season.

If i remember correctly, this occurred once with Seahawks few years ago when they played in the SB against NE. Quinn accepted the role of HC with Atlanta. Few days ago, we heard that Pats DC, Patricia will be taking the HC job with the Lions. JUst announced also that OC McDaniels will be named as the HC of the Cots next season. Also, OC for Vikes Shurmur has accepted the HC job with the GMen. Could be a coincidence that any OC or DC leaving for another team will lose a playoff game or lose a SB game. Do you think there's a big distraction with these coaches leaving for another team and not being able to create a game plan for their next playoff game? Interesting to see what happens with Pats and Vikes this weekend or SB, if they win this weekend.

Pats announced offensive coord Charlie Weis would leave after the end of 2004 season.....Pats won the SB but didn't cover spread......also, defensive coord Romeo Crennel announced he was leaving as well.

Pats announce offensive coord Bill O'Brien was leaving after 2011 season, Pats lost SB to the Giants SU

In 2009, defensive coord Dean Pees last season & Pats lost in the wildcard round

It hard to find this info, but its out there for the other teams

CG, thank you for your response. Now I do remember.... seems like a team in which a D.C. Or OC has taken a HC job the following year has not done well either the playoff or SB. I failed to mention that when Quinn accepted the job at Atlanta, Seahawks lost the SB to NE. Hawks didn't cover ATS either. Can you imagine seeing Jax vs Eagles for the SB? Wow, might be worth doing a small ML par for these dawgs this weekend. On another note, keep posting, you're one of the very few posters/callers here on this site that has gained my respect. BOL bruh!!

Thanks bro.......its nice to share information, thats why I come onto the forum, lots of good info on here. If Pats do win SU vs Jags, IMO, they won't cover, & they will go on to lose the SB.

Depending the point spread for the SB. If Pats are favored by more than 3, they won't cover.
