So with all the starting d line now coming back with Christian Wilkins announcement. This is what their depth chart looks like heading into next season strictly on the dline that was arguably one of the top 1-3 dlines in the country—also returning Venables at Dc—gotta also be considered top 1-3:

Austin Bryant 4 star
Dexter Lawrence (presumably healthy this year) 5 star
Christian Wilkins 5 star
Clellin Ferrell 4 star

Xavier Kelly 4 star
Albert Huggins 4 star
Niles Pinckney 4 star
Xavier Thomas 5 star

Richard Yeargin 4 Star
Justin Foster 4 star
Jordan Williams 4 star
Kj Henry 5 star

Logan Rudolph 4 star
Justin Mascol 4 star
Josh Belk 4 star
Chris Register 4 star

I know Bama is accustomed to this but damn, this is a helluva lotta depth and talent. Gotta think the Tigers are penned in as 1 or 2 again next year. With a total of 16-17 returning starters, 2 5 star qbs pushing Bryant at Qb, 4s and 5 stars littering the rest of the squad, the job Dabo and co have done recruiting to Clemson has to be thought of as the best in the country. We are not Bama, Ohio st, Usc, etc., historically or geographically etc but damn if we aren’t the second best program behind Bama and a dang close second right now.

Unreal all the guys stayed in another year, hopefully none get a major injury (Wilkens is stupid for coming back). They will be nasty on defense

Gonna be good. Taters better hope T Lawrence can ball on O......which I think he will be really good.

I think Kirby has them beat on recruiting....just 2 years out tho.

Agreed about Kirby and Uga now but think they are maybe a bigger threat to an imminently retiring Saban and Bama. I think that will start to shift. And I agree about Lawrence to an extent BUT people misread the playoff game. That game was 10-6 midway through third with Clemson driving and establishing run a bit. But Bama did what they did and made a huge play which put pressure on K Bryant to try to make a big play and basically 2-3 plays were the difference—as they usually are in a big game. But my point is, a lot of people think Kb was the main problem. Certainly he didn’t overcome adversity but the main difference between this year and the last two years was less the difference between Deshaun and Kelly and more our physically immature and lack of seasoning at skill positions. Mike Williams makes that play on the pick 6 and about 5 other plays Cain f’ed up. Artavis Scott, Jordan Leggett, Mike Williams, and Wayne Gallman were missed greatly. Deshaun wouldn’t have beaten Bama with the skill around kb either. Switch the rbs between Bama and clemson and the outcome probably would have been reversed. Next year with etienne and feaster another year older and bigger and Higgins (who got hurt early in the Bama game after missed PI call) and co at WRU, Kb will be surrounded with more like talent and with that d, Clemson is back in the title game in my opinion. Lawrence will see action as will 5 Star Johnson who won his elite 11 but this is KB’s team to lead. He improved a ton from last year to this year and think he does the same this year. We’ll see.

very good, no doubt. looks like a bama defense every year tbh

uga and clemson will be monsters for quite a while. that clemson dline next year is about as good as it gets... i'd put it up there with Payne/Allen/Williams/Anderson from 2 years ago, as far as very recent comparisons. those guys will end up as two 1st rounders, a 2nd rounder, and a 3rd rounder...and only reason Williams dropped to 3rd was the weed.

Unless the Tigers have a ton of injuries to key players, they should make it back to
the playoffs....especially with this schedule.

Furman, @Texas AM, Georgia So, @ Georgia Tech, Syracuse, @Wake Forest, Open,
NC State, @Florida St., Louisville, @Boston C, Duke, South Carolina.

No Miami or Virginia Tech which is a plus.

Dabo's on a good run right now on the field and with recruiting.

Have a good friend that coaches up there. There are things going on there that make Danny Ford look like a choir boy.

Haha, I was going to say the same thing, how much are they paying these DL to stay another year, it's a high injury position

Don't see any losses with that

What a laugh? Coming from “Mr. Gamecock,” who has a “friend” coaching at a clemson would certainly reveal cheating to his “friend” in Columbia. Meanwhile, proven documented cheating in Columbia goes on and other sketchiness like bringing in Bowen to the basketball team.

Mr. Gamecock, maybe you could enlighten the forum more on your suggestion about Clemson problems.

By the way, I knew Danny and played with him in a game once. Friendly, good ole country boy back in the day.

Cloverleaf, I can tell you before he does. The rumor is that shady money goes through a local mega church that Dabo and many locals attend. Stupid unfounded rumor. Been spread for years. The fact that he says he has a friend who coaches at Clemson and tells him this stuff is like a 12 year old girl trying to lend credibility. I can say anything I want to, I have a friend who works on Trump’s staff that told me he really did pay hookers to pee on him. What a joke. Gamecocks mad because they tasted a little taste of success under Spurrier but now have fallen woefully behind big brother in the state rivalry.

with all that being said, Clemson at 8/1 was a steal going into next year. same with GA , both should be in playoffs again

That's going to be a hell of a defense next year. Don't see much competition to dethrone them either.
