A Pennsylvania man was arrested for punching a police horse and its rider at Lincoln Financial Field over the weekend.

Taylor Hendricks, a 22-year-old from Whitehall, Penn., was ejected from Saturday's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons because he was intoxicated and did not have a ticket, according to Philadelphia police. Following his ejection, police said, he approached a mounted officer and "began punching the horse in the face, neck and shoulder area."

"The officer on the horse was then struck in the legs by the male (Hendricks)," police spokesperson Troy Brown wrote in a statement. "Another officer came over and grabbed the male, who was placed in custody."

Brown added that neither the horse nor officer were seriously injured in the incident.

According to online Philadelphia Municipal Court records, Hendricks was charged with aggravated assault, taunting a police animal, simple assault and defiant trespassing. He is due to appear in court Jan. 30.

The Eagles squeaked past the Falcons, 15-10, in the divisional round and will host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night.

i got handcuffed at umd for hitting a horse with a broom back in college. it was after maryland swept duke and like the idiots we are we rioted...sorta. i was swinging a broom around in the air not knowing that riot police on horses were making their way down the street. i hit the horse on accident and was handcuffed by police. they let me go pretty quickly afterwards since there were people setting fire to things and actually causing a problem. i was just drunk and swinging a broom around celebrating the sweep
