FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who again wore red gloves on both hands during his Friday news conference, said he isn't talking about his right hand injury but relayed that he participated in the team's entire practice earlier in the day.

Brady deflected questions on how confident he is that he will play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"We'll see," he said.

  • [h=2]Belichick barely addresses Brady injury[/h]Patriots coach Bill Belichick barely addressed quarterback Tom Brady's injured right hand during a news conference on Friday morning.
  • [h=2]Hoyer 'ready' as Brady deals with hand injury[/h]
Although a source says Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's injured throwing hand "should be OK" for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Jaguars, backup Brian Hoyer is preparing to be ready in a pinch.

</aside>Asked how his hand is feeling and whether he threw any footballs on Friday, Brady said, "I'm not talking about that." He responded the same way when asked how he injured his hand during Wednesday's practice.

Brady wore the gloves at the start of practice and said Friday it has been a long time since he wore them in a game. On Thursday, he didn't participate in any team-based drills after warm-ups.

"I'd always rather practice, absolutely," Brady said.

Brady was asked whether he has played in games in more pain than he's currently experiencing.

"I've played in a lot of games with pain," he said.

Brady said the Jaguars present a "great challenge" for the Patriots heading into Sunday's game.

"I think the team has worked hard to get to this point, and it will be a great game," Brady said. "Playing against a really good team that's good in all phases, we're going to have to play really well."

This whole injury is BS

But if you like the pats ... grab it now at 7 - 7.5's

If you like the Jags, you should have taken it at 9-9.5 when it was there. Now you will need to wait until around Game time to get 8-8.5

Word is his right hand got jammed and cut in practice, swollen knuckle and 4 stitches on the joint of his thumb. This injury is for real, how much it will effect his throwing remains to be seen.

Sunday we will know......& I doubt he's fine, only people saying he's fine are bettors betting on Pats trying to convince themselves their bets are safe.

And the people saying his hand almost got amputated are the pats haters and jag backers

Lol, nobody said his hand was amputated, Jags backers just wanted the truth on what they're hiding......Pats backers thought it was all a ruse, lmao......& now we know he had a swollen knuckle & 4 stitches, that's more than nothing.

What's the edge?

Patriots are fucking whack. This shit is getting old. But the media is whacker

Why are the Patriots whacked?

They don't want to talk about it so they don't. It's the media that's making it a circus. They don't stop

Because he has to wear a glove at all times so the media doesn't see it?

If it's a real cut then put a bandage on it. They just fuck around with the media.

Onto the game....How many times did Jacksonville get beat over the top vs pitt? Jaguars safeties are overrated and their d line is a little bit overrated just right now imo. So I say fuck the patriots but I probably will bet them and buy it down to 7 or 7.5

If Brady isn't injured , can't see a guy of his stature going along with such foolishness.. just makes them look foolish if your making up a injury.

Report: Tom Brady’s hand was ‘bloody mess,’ required stitches

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's hand was a bloody mess on practice Wednesday, according to NFL Media's Mike Garoppolo. The Patriots quarterback needed stitches after getting his hand cut open on a teammate's helmet, according to WBZ The Sports Hub's Michael Felger. Brady also jammed his thumb on the play, according to the Boston Herald.

But after all that, Brady was zinging the ball pretty well on Friday, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. He was a limited participant in practice Friday and was ruled questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Danny Amendola said he caught a few throws from Brady on Friday. He was then asked how those throws looked.
"Yeah, they're always good throws," Amendola said.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Two tidbits from #Patriots QB Tom Brady’s thumb injury: 1. It was gushing blood when it happened. 2. He was “zinging it pretty good today,” source said.

Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo Stitches, per Felger. I heard it was a bloody mess but also that Brady’s been throwing the ball well. https://twitter.com/iamjamesstewart/status/954442708550144001 …

James Stewart @IAmJamesStewart Felger on Brady injury:
“No fracture. No ligament. Just a cut from hitting the buckle on someone’s helmet. Four stitches around the knuckle, should not affect him.

Brady appeared on the injury report on Wednesday with a right hand injury. He cancelled a pair of press conferences on Wednesday and Thursday, but spoke to the media Friday. He was mum about whether he'd play Sunday, and said, "We'll see." He also wouldn't discuss the hand injury. Brady was asked whether he's ever played through more pain than he's in right now.

"I have played in a lot of games with pain," he said.
He wore gloves on both hands, which prevented a good look at his throwing hand to confirm what sort of injury he might be dealing with.

When Malcolm Butler was asked whether he thinks Brady will play, Butler said, "I think so. … Tom's a big boy. He'll be there."
Amendola was willing to vouch for Brady's toughness.

"Super tough," the veteran receiver said. "The toughest. He's a warrior, he's a competitor and there's really only one reason why he's here, and that's to play football."

Favre broke his thumb on his throwing hand and played the entire season and finished with a career high in completion percentage that year. Dude barely said a word about it that year. Brady aint shit. Little bitch better not be scared this weekend.

Jacksonville's D has been scorched by good offenses, I think it looks as if people are just begging for the Patriots to get beat and they're desperately searching for reasons to believe the Jaqs are that team

As I said, putting lipstick on a pig
