Maybe that's what this all boils down to.
He cant throw cause he can't grip. Maybe he jeopordizes the stitches everytime he makes a fist.

Brady covered up the hand with gloves, so we won't know exactly where the cut is, or do we know? If it bled like they say it did, & was a deep enough cut, it will bother him all game, no matter how many pain meds he's pumped up with........& I'm sure he will throw with gloves on the whole game for extra protection. I wonder how much padding &/or wrapping they do around that cut, cuz he can't have too much, he needs to be able to throw the ball.

Despite Pitt scoring a bunch, most throws were highly contested and needed to be placed perfectly. Brady’s advantage is his accuracy. If that is effected by this cut or the glove, he’s gonna struggle.

I think if they were worried, they would have picked up another QB for the roster.

I think getting the cut closed so it doesn't bleed all over the place is the priority....Tawmmy should be able to deal with the pain....when you throw it forces blood flow to the throwing hand, so if the cut isn't closed he'll have to wear gloves and probably have to change them multiple times.

From what I read, the cut is between his thumb & index finger, the web pocket, if so, no amount of glue is gonna keep that cut closed if he needs to grip & throw an accurate pass.....but that's only if the cut is where I read it was.

Tom Brady suffered an injury to his thumb this week. It was very painful, was reportedly “gushing blood” and required four stitches. That’s all ominous stuff with the AFC Championship Game coming up in a couple of days.
But apparently none of it is having an impact on the way Brady throws the ball. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media said he’s been told Brady threw the ball “incredibly well” during Friday’s practice.
That’s great news for the Patriots and their fans. Because, as we all know, the Patriots would have to fall back to the Brian Hoyer plan if Brady were to be unable to play. And that spells doom for the offense going up against the best defense in the NFL in the Jacksonville Jaguars.
There is another issue that will be interesting to keep an eye on during the game Sunday. Brady reportedly hasn’t been taking snaps under center — taking them all from shotgun Friday — due to the laceration on his thumb. Whether that is something that continues through Sunday’s game will certainly have an impact on what the Patriots are able to do offensively.
New England is still heavily favored to win at home, despite all the hubbub about Brady’s injury this week. Given this team’s track record at Gillette Stadium, it’s easy to see why. Should the Patriots win Sunday, they would advance to their 10th Super Bowl, extending their NFL record.

Exactly. Tomahawk , step on, helmet to hand. Whatever.

Don't let Brady lay at the bottom of the pile long. Theyll get away w murder under there.

It seems idiotic to me that they're having contact in practice during the playoffs anyway... especially with Brady.

The part of this that interests me most is the part abouttaking snaps under centre-I’ll bet he hasn’t been testing out that cut doingthis which makes a huge difference, because if they have to run everything outof the gun it makes them a lot more predictable.

Did they pick red gloves to hide the blood lol??!!

The margins are so small (sounding like Al Pacino now) butif he’s 5% off due to grip issues ect its enough to make a big difference tothe outcome. This Jax D are serious ball-hawks they go after everything so ifhe’s a little off they will get some TO’s (which lets face it they MUST get towin)

What about pulling him with a lead and leaving the back door open for a cover? Or what about 3rd or 4th and short when he usually sneaks it?

SO many times, Stafford plays hurt and is 3% off... and they do not cover. IMO he is top notch, but his propensity to play dinged up backfires sometimes. I went with him for awhile but now, when I think he is struggling but plays anyway, I go against.
Brady did not practice this week, he is a precision, timing passer, and did not get to practice against a D that simulates the Jax D.
AND if he is 3% off, that matters.
It is a risk to go with him, he might not be himself. Only went down from 9 pts to 7.5 points, if he is off that is a lot more than 1.5 points...

Its only 4 stiches. Usually anything that only gets 4 or less stiches, is stiched for other reasons besides needing stiches. They prob decided to stich instead of a butterfly because they were afraid the bandage might affect his grip. Either way, its only 4 fukn stiches and wont have any impact. Has anyone on here ever had stiches before.

Brady won’t even have to throw. There will be a flag every time Jack gets within 3 yards of him. NE only way to go here. Can’t see the officiating do a 180 degree turn at this point
