Seems like this behavior is getting worse despite laws against it. Then when the light turns green they keep sitting there until someone honks at them. The worse is when you’re in a double turning lane and the front two cars aren’t going on green because both drivers are texting. By the time they do go only a few cars get through the light due to the hold up.

I walk 1.7 miles each way to work daily. No lie probably 25%-50% of the cars driving past are talking, texting or playing with their cells in some way. Not sure how they do it..all it takes is one second of not paying attention and your dead, killed someone, crashed etc etc

I will but Im not a asshole like those above. Theres nothing worse that missing an arrow bc some idiot isnt paying attention. Side note, had an officer tell me once, legally you can as long as your car isnt in gear. So if you are at a light and in park, you can be on your phone, if you are stopped at the light with the car in drive but foot on the break you cant be on your phone. Keep in mind Im in NJ and Im sure laws vary by state.

Yes.

My new car has the feature where it beeps at me when I am stopped and the car in front of me starts pulling away. So I pay zero attention at lights.

I mean, I texted at stoplights with my old car. I just had to pay attention out of the corner of my eye.

I have done it multiple times. But I'm aware of what's going on in front of me.

i have also worked the forum, including the admin panel while driving and at lights, but I have been doing less of that.
if it's a busy road, no. I'll wait until I get to where I'm going.

also the cell is linked to the car and a text will pop up on the screen, you can view it when stopped and reply also when stopped

I sort of text while driving...

I have my car say incoming text...do you want to hear...

I say yes....when the text is done

the car asks If I want to respond...

I say yes...I respond...hit a button on the steering wheel..

when done it shuts down automatically

All the while my hands never leave the steering wheel..

might have to check that out because I think I have it and never set it up.

so it will still come in while driving ??

Yes, guilty as charged. I even text while driving...but use judgement (i.e. there's not a car anywhere near me).

I commute an hour to work every day and I see half the cars on the road screwing around with the phones. It’s so obvious when in stop and go traffic. They hit their brakes when there’s no one in front of them, leave huge gaps between them and the car in front of them, swerving into other lanes. I have to admit I voice message too :) I’m trying to quit though. Can’t go cold turkey. Got to wean yourself off of it slowly

I just think if you’re the front car at a stoplight you have a responsibility to not be holding up traffic to a point someone has to honk at you just because you’re heads down texting on the phone.

If ya gotta do it do the voice text thing....Damn

texting at a red light is bad, come to jersey and have people who text in the left lane. theres nothing id love more then to be able to rear end the guy causing the traffic in front into the median and then get out and beat the shit out of him. just the thought of my drive home every day ticks me off.
